** OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool ** 8.1.25 at 8pm

I think it is totally fair what VVD said in a Sky interview about it being a yellow. He said there is a referee, linesmen, VAR etc and is spot on if you take that incident in isolation. It was missed by the officials.

So we wait to see whether the FA accept his objective interview or whether we see another situation where PGMOL do the arse covering thing and put him on an FA charge.

The net, net is that these refs are incompetent. The first one wasn't a yellow, the second one was. That's 2 mistakes, not to mention the other yellows that were missed again.
Why is no one pointing out var can't get involved for yellow cards?
If they could they would have overturned the first one.

Ange saying refs have told the clubs that yellows aren’t given for fouls when advantage is played??

Doesn’t sound right to me. But if mind games to protect Bergvall??

madness if true, its open season if a team is breaking on the other side of the pitch

If I'm a manager, I'm saying to the ref pre game, I don't want any advantages, stop it and book them every time

Don't think Ange changed much compared to previous games against the bigger clubs. Press and high line as long as we can, but accept dropping deeper when we can't. Still playing with a decent amount of risk, just didn't make the mistakes as much.

Kinsky seemingly being good at a wide range of passing is such a treat. Those direct long passes he played probably wouldn't be on if Liverpool didn't press as high. And they wouldn't have to if he wasn't also so comfortable with his shorter passes.

That's what some of us have been asking for in regards to adapting tactically. So much better the last two games. FB joining at the right times, compact in midfield, longer passes.

Well done to the manager. Hope it's not just cause we're at the bare bones and this sticks as bodies come back.

The full backs in particular make such as difference to the balance of the team. Spence staying behind his winger until the run is on.

And who gave PGMOL the empowerment to ignore the laws of the game and do their own thing?

I didn't. Did you?

My mates a copper. I might tell him it's OK to make up his own laws and do things his own way. Then I can take a line of coke with him on the table in the pub on a Friday evening,

Kinsky was time wasting, even at 0-0, I loved it.

The fullbacks were far more orthodox and didn’t have to defend while chasing a Liverpool player running towards our goal. That made a massive difference.

That's just inaccurate application of the rule, because humans are not machines - but it's still inaco.

I agree with most of that.
But the majority of the football community being intolerant of officiating errors or inaccuracies created the forensic approach - so we have to live with what we created. We all did this.

Well, speaking of inaccurate - the bricky cameras and camera angles, and the manual lines the VAR room draws - they're certainly not particularly accurate. When exactly did the ball leave the foot of the passer? The gear used to measure these things currently are anything but accurate.

Yeah, we sort of did bring it in, but it can change. If 90% of fans hate the rule, there's has got to be a way to change it.

Anyways, you're right of course. We're probably going to have to live with it for a long time still.

Honestly, I think Vicario is in trouble of losing his place when he gets back fit.

One game so trying not to get carried away but Kinky is class. Great with his feet, calm, composed, confident, good shot stopped. Can come for corners and catches. I love him already.

Two decent keepers is good but can be an issue between the two later on but I need TP for my bunghole.

it gives you a cm advantage

Which isn't a meaningful advantage in football. If you look at the sprinters on a 100 m, I'm sure some of them are a centimeter or a few milimeters in front of or behind one of the others. No one goes in with a mega zoom VAR check to see that they're all lined up perfectly before they start, because it's meaningless.

Yep, it’s so tight.

Yeah, quite adamantly as well.
If it's not a cynical foul they won't go back to give a yellow.

Does seem wrong, but if the club have asked and been told the rule, that's what you go with
