Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

again though, "the system". No one else seems to play a 3-4-3 variation, certainly not Top 8 and i said this other day, name me another team in the PL who does? We got our arses torn apart from Arsenal because of the system.

Maybe, the issue is the system, but against weaker opposition it's less exposed (not always, Villa, Leicester).

But strong opposition, United, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Arsenal, City (not so much as their tactics actually complement ours as an outlier) - we struggle. I mean, proof is in the pudding, wasn't the City win the first team we've beaten all season in top 6 or so?

Tuchel used to as did potter at brighton. In europe a lot of teams play it. Frankfurt won the europa playing it.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine was a robbery though
A ref who flipped between his decisions a pen not given and time wasting rewarded rather than penalised

city have been playing 3 at the back this season
Arsenal do too mid game with Ben white becoming the third centre back
Both those sides do keep the ball miles better though of course

The system wasn't the prob in most of those games, we just played like we scared and was more to do with the mentality. It also didn't help when we had Lloris throwing the ball in the net against Arsenal when we were comfortable.

Occasionally, not a lot. Most of the games they play 4, but when in possession (which is most of the time) LB or RB, depending on who plays, moves into central midfield.
I’ve seen them play it most games IMO
A kinda 3-1-1-4-1 set up
And I agree it’s because of the full back coming into that first 1 spot …
It’s why we tore them apart in the second half every time we attacked as they had no cover wide

Poch's teams were 3-3-4 when we attacked (4-2-3-1 when defending). The problem is Conte plays a sort of 5-2-0-3

The problem is you cannot give anyone any praise unless it's pochettino.

We have been inconsistent this season a bit boring to watch but we are still in with a shout for a good season finish.

I'm not convinced we have a better squad than Man Utd. Arsenal had the luxury of being able to rest players in midweek in the first, busy part of the season, Saudi Sportswashing Machine didn't have any European football to worry about and none of those teams mentioned contain a goalkeeper well past his best chucking the ball into his own net on regular occasions.
Your right
GB is talking utter gonads

So that’s one example. And he literally didn’t throw the ball in his own goal. Sounds like hyperbolic brick to me.
OK then… ‘batting it into his own goal’ is that better?

Lloris has been terrible this season. Lots of examples of his mistakes directly costing us goals. He is probably amongst the worst 3 or 4 keepers in the PL this season.

I think the term may also be dropped or lobbed into his own net
For someone to say he didn’t throw it in is kinda semantics in the scheme of things
He has cost us lots of goals this season directly and indirectly
Saudi Sportswashing Machine
Villa
Arsenal twice
City away
That’s off the top of my head in BIG games that matter

Lloris has had a bad season, and those mistakes have cost us. But the outfield doesn't magically play brick because of Lloris.

I think there is a real question of is Conte the reason we are in with a shout at 4th or the reason we are struggling for 4th despite our regular competition bricking the bed?

- His failure to evaluate the WB situation is interesting, he had Doherty/Royal & Spence there, but forced the club to buy a £40M+ replacement, dump Doherty and loan Spence when the opposite side had an injury prone, struggling player in Sess and an underwhelming older player in Perisic
- His absolute miss in not bringing in Sarr into the fold earlier, Skipp similar but more affected by injuries
- We all can debate the value of having 2 in midfield constantly overrun and his overplaying of Bentancur
- Buy Danjuma and play Lucas?
- Refusal to sub Son/Deki when they are out of form, having bad games (wtf is the point of buying depth if you don't use it)
- Defensive coaching/tactics (fudging Everton has conceded less than us)

The excuse constantly is, he doesn't have x player (not sure how that is different to any other manager), but never addressing above

So why not say he's made some big mistakes, which is true? Why does @Finney Is Back need to say "a goalkeeper well past his best chucking the ball into his own net on regular occasions"?

It just plays into this flimflam narrative that somehow Lloris is the sole reason we've let in a lot of goals. He deserves a lot more respect for his 10 years of service.

OK then just to please you....

'None of those clubs happen to have a goalkeeper who is well past his best and has made far too many big mistakes this season that have directly cost their team goals and likely points'. How's that? Do you feel better now?

Note that I respect Lloris' 10 years of service. However IMO he has been the weakest link in our defence this season (and that is amongst a few weak links). His past 10 years service should not get him a free pass when it comes to us wanting our team to have as good a chance as possible to win trophies.

The mistake she has made aren’t because we’re under pressure and what they all did was pit us behind
That exposes the team as we have to attack more and against better sides who can hurt us its catastrophic

Respect is a given for any player turning up and trying to do their best IMO

But this season in massive games his basic errors have put us behind in a way that made it so much harder for us to achieve anything in the game
