Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

So Conte hardly rotates in the league and then shock horror players who are not in form come in and we do not win.

When Spurs are winning in the league he rarely subs Kane and so yesterday in a must win match he does not start our best striker or our best defender.

And Conte still has not committed himself to the club for next season.

Last night more or less finished it for me with this manager and his set-up.

To send that team out in the only competition we had a chance of winning tells me he’s another one not interested in domestic cups. Which would just about be okay if he wasn’t constantly telling the press that we’re not good enough to compete in the league.

Which leaves us as a club with nothing to play for other than a perpetual battle for top four - so that we can qualify for a cup we’ve got zero chance of winning.

So what is the point of him as manager, especially if he won’t commit long term, and the football is turgid?

I’d not sack him before we exit the CL (which I think will be next Wednesday). Once that happens, he should be gone 15 minutes after full time.

I think the team he sent out was reasonable. We have 4 games in 10 days. Rotation was necessary and you will rotate in the games with the "lesser" teams. Even more so if said lesser teams are not fielding most of their starters. The first half wasn't that bad, but in the second half the performance dropped significantly and we couldn't create a decent goal-scoring chance to save our lives. Yes, there were a few players that were not at he same level as others. But a front line that includes Richie and Son, a midfield of Sarr and Hojbjerg, and a backline that includes our latest RWB signing and a decent Davies, Dier, and Perisic should not be losing to a Championship club, even if that club is at full strength. So the problem is probably more with the system and/or the players' intensity, rather than with the rotation.

He sent out a load of players who haven’t played with each other this season, so not hard to work out why they played like strangers.
