Why? Neither were available when we recruited Conte. We missed our window on Tuchel because stalled on sacking Mourinho in January 2021, whilst Chelsea were decisive with Lampard. And PSG wouldn’t release Poch, so we had to turn to Conte. Now Conte has effectively (and predictably) failed, you go for the best person to move forward with.

if he walks for personal reasons like health or wanting to be back in Italy, then id say that’s pretty much zero fudge up on the clubs side!

think Ten Hag has made far bigger strides with a bigger ship to turn around than Conte has managed at Spurs. Agree where we are currently doesn't sound unreasonable, but anyone with eyes can see we should be doing better.
Hopefully i will be proven wrong and we go on a massive run, but we have suffered 8 losses this season. To find a team who's lost more, and conceded more, you need to go to 11th placed team in Villa. that to me still feels like a structural / formation issue, predominantly driven by having 2 in the middle. We have struggled against the big teams massively apart from City, and beaten most of the teams i would expect us to.

We’re 4th, who should we be doing better than? Footballs not been great but that’s been covered so many times. Injuries and fixture list have been a killer, look at Pool or Chelsea to see how it could’ve looked.
The Utd squad has been quality for many years, slightly unbalanced and requiring tweaks but they haven’t spent £1bn in the last 4 or 5 years on total brick, they’re good players needing direction, which Ten Haag has given them. Pretty much what Conte did for us last season.

Ten Hag (who i wasnt keen on bringing in to Spurs) has transformed that United team. People slate our players (and most of it is fair), but let's not pretend ETH hasn't taken massive strides on the players he's had less than one season to work on.
Luke Shaw, Fred has been brilliant for them this season, and obviously Rashford. He's imrpoved them in all aspects. Shrewd signings sure, but he's done more in less time.

We should be well clear in 3rd at least. We have a better squad than United, Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Arsenal (although conversely not Liverpool).
ten Hag and Howe are simply better managers than Conte.

He was the manager I wanted us to bring in that summer when we eventually ended up with Nuno. I suspect he turned us down due to the budget being offered not matching the demands from the owners. However there are others who think it was Levy who turned him down which, if true, is far more concerning.

I'm not convinced we have a better squad than Man Utd. Arsenal had the luxury of being able to rest players in midweek in the first, busy part of the season, Saudi Sportswashing Machine didn't have any European football to worry about and none of those teams mentioned contain a goalkeeper well past his best chucking the ball into his own net on regular occasions.
There were reports (yeah yeah!) that we were bemused because he didn’t have an entourage!
