Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

They are the equivalent of city’s owners in the championship
I like them and what them and enjoy the show but it’s a case study in spending money the club doesn’t have

Spending money the business doesn not have is typical in almost all industries. there are always new entrants with new investments that's not made their monies and those that don't/can't invest to same themselves.
The fundamental idea of professional sports is that money gets you better performance. So investing in hope of getting new revenue streams is where the risk is and the fun part of the game. Going up the football league tiers is going to bring wrexham exponentially more revenues and incure higher spends and risk taking along the way. And they are bound to make more bad investments as they go higher up, so not just a case study about spending money but also about risk taking and sports investments (the owners may not get their monies back).

As Liverpool start getting players back from injury I can see them moving up the table.
Agreed.
And I'd expect Saudi Sportswashing Machine to slip away.

But the question was, replace Conte now or in the summer? Would now cause too much upheaval? Or give the new guy time to settle in?

Absolutely no different to Salford and the United blokes just nicer with it. But they will find the hard way that there is no extra revenue in the EFL just extra expenditure on better players that becomes a black hole.

The extra revenue you talk about doesn't exist, there is no lucrative TV money or sponsorship money so it's either money from the crowds hence why they bigger capacities do better in the EFL generally or the owners putting in (ala Bournemouth for all the years they rose). Wrexham are fairly big but they ain't that big.

But it's expensive to fund better players to fuel that dream, that's why they Salford projects gone quiet and it will test their metal, I would imagine they will need a third mate as a money man as they could probably afford it themselves but would be a huge multimillion pound dent in their personal wealth.

Zero chance we're replacing Conte before the end of the season

Umm. Potter wrong fit for them and Jose/ Conte wrong fit for us.
Makes you wonder what these owners / DOF are thinking sometimes.

Chelsea have scored 4 in their last 10 games in all competitions. That's appalling.

Far closer to the team in 20th (13 points ahead) than top (23 points behind)

In the unlikely event that we show up against them for once next weekend, that could well be his final game. Can't be far at all from being pushed. Either that game or going out of the CL v Dortmund

more than you'd expect with the forwards they have

I have a feeling Conte will not renew his contract and we will take Potter who will be available.

We'd be insane to take Potter if it ends badly at Chelsea for him in the next few weeks. I wouldn't write him off by any means and I rate him as a coach but he has massive question marks over him right now. And not just because of the current situation and results at Chelsea.

Its AVB again isnt it - there'd be no where to go at the first sign of trouble if you start with such question marks

I wouldn't judge any manager at Chelsea working under the current circumstances - it's a total circus there having had so many players dumped on him (who i doubt he had any say in for the most part)

True, but he’s clearly rattled. I wonder if that’s a function of his relative lack of experience.

Getting shirty in press conferences, stating that “He’s not part of the problem” (paraphrasing).

He’s doing a Nathan Jones.

I think part of Potter’s issue has been De Zebri doing so well at Brighton as much as anything.

i like Potter and was on his bandwagon, but there would be question marks if this Chelsea stint ends shortly.

Who would not be rattled, I mean Conte is hardly the picture of cool in his interviews "These are not questions for me"

I agree with @scaramanga point of you have to question him taking the job as a flaw but in terms of managing that mess of a club where the owners have literally funded two teams in two windows without any plan...na thats on them not him. Its obviously a case of the owner playing GHod there and its back firing.

I honestly believe if they had signed no one in Jan they would have been better off and let the core of what they have buy into Potter plan.

Dr Tottenham will keep in a job for a few more weeks

This is true, but every manager we've had who was a Chelsea manager first, has been a) a bit brick*, and b) worse for us than them*
*hopefully Conte bucks these trends.

May be the case, but I wouldn’t want our club to act as the guinea pig in an attempt to prove right the theory that it was Chelsea’s club structure at fault, rather than Potter himself.

He can do that elsewhere and we can have a look at him down the line.
