Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

May be the case, but I wouldn’t want our club to act as the guinea pig in an attempt to prove right the theory that it was Chelsea’s club structure at fault, rather than Potter himself.

He can do that elsewhere and we can have a look at him down the line.
Wasn’t he amongst the multitude of managers who turned us down before we eventually appointed Nuno?

I have a feeling Conte will not renew his contract and we will take Potter who will be available.

Interesting Potter turned us down inn t he summer of 2021 because he did not want to work with Levy. Levy would go for Poch before Potter anyway.

My mate who’s a Chelsea fan reckons he’s on £10m a year, 5 year contract too.

Woof.

did a good job at Brighton, but that’s another example of their profligacy if true

why would Chelsea, who never have managers poached, give a 5 year contract of that salary to someone so unproven

There have to be severance clauses in these contracts. It'd be a dereliction of duty to guarantee him 50m regardless of performance. Especially in a job where the average shelf life is a lot less than 5 years.

We'd be insane to take Potter if it ends badly at Chelsea for him in the next few weeks. I wouldn't write him off by any means and I rate him as a coach but he has massive question marks over him right now. And not just because of the current situation and results at Chelsea.

He's been found out, said it before

- He lacks a system/ideal, which is suited to small teams where you make do with what you have, when you actually have quality in all positions, what do you do? he tinkers for tinkering sake.
- His Brighton teams at their best struggled to score goals, his Chelsea team struggles to score goals?
- He's failing the pressure test, again at Brighton he could lose 4 in a row or get thumped, no problem, his interview yesterday shows he just isn't ready at this level.

Chelsea would probably pay us £20M to take him (would save them a ton)

He should have taken the shot with us when he had the chance ..
