He’s done, time to go. Been hung out to dry by the Board as every manager always is, the issue lies there, but he’s gotta go man.
I agree squad wise 100% but he's not gotten the best or even an average out of them this season. I like Ange I wish it was working but these issues have present throughout and we've never really made a systematic adjustment to get the points.tbats what makes a good manager and he hasn't been that for us over the long term.

It's really annoying because the foundations are there, we aren't a horrible squad but the way he's used it just isn't working. :rage:

His interviews are really irritating. He comes across like a rude prick if I’m honest. How dare you ask reasonable questions with my team languishing in 15th. Not to mention that interview he gave after the United game. Came across like a clown. Basically dismissed the need to defend which explains a lot given how many goals we concede. And some STILL think it’s nothing to do with the system 😂

He's clearly trying to do a Fergie and control the media narrative. And it works a bit because you can see some reporters walking on eggshells. However, he's now spouting absolute nonsense to justify his own shortcomings.

Against Tamworth, he said "it's difficult to score goals against any team". He has hundreds of millions worth of talent on the pitch, top internationals playing against a part time team who train twice a week and have proper jobs for 40 hours a week. An absolute nonsense thing to say.

Today he says "we literally only have 11 fit players". That's just not true and it's attempting to distance himself from blame. Sure his options were limited but he had more than 11 fit players. Maybe he had "11 fit players that I trust" but that's a different argument.

His utterances are nonsense and he looks like a man who has no answers to the questions being asked. The Emperor has no clothes.

Saying that and not adding 'senior' to the sentence is a dereliction of duty of care to the academy/teen players on the bench.

It's really confusing why he'd choose to do that - it seemed a no brainer to put Gray DM and Davies back in at CB if he was available to start. Minimal disruption to the players and round pegs in round holes
Agreed.

Perhaps with Kulusevski and Maddison wide he wanted Porro and Spence as wing backs to get more width in attack?

It didn't work at all though, and a two man midfield of Sarr and Bergvall along with Gray as RCB in a back three is asking a lot from some very young players.

Said it in the OMT too, but it's the kind of performance that can get a manager sacked. I have a lot of time for him, but he can't afford to get that kind of decision wrong now. It's also the kind of decisions you get out of desperation (obviously can't know if that's true), desperation is not what we need now.

I'm still Ange in, but getting to the point where it wouldn't be a surprise if he was sacked.

Really hope we get some key players fit again soon and a new signing or two that hits the ground running.

On a surface level....the results we are having is enough to get any manager sacked.

The thing that might keep him here is a lack of availability of a permanent replacement.

So the decision then becomes ....how worried are we about our league position and relegation, and whether an interim until the summer will have any greater impact than keeping Ange. If we don't think relegation is an issue, then it would be worth letting Ange progress to the summer as he'll have his 'players returning' period and the success (or not) of that period will feed into the discussion about sticking or twisting in the summer.
(When prospective candidates would also be easier to obtain)

Fully agreed. The other thing that is keeping him here seems to be an acknowledgement within the club that a lot of what's been going on is a result of injuries and fatigue, combined with where we are in the squad building process.

One of the worries with that is if we get more significant injuries before or as those already injured return.

Indeed. Any interim will have to deal with the same injury scenario.

And I said 'surface level' as the injury situation (for example) is a deeper level thing that needs proper analysis as to the why's and wherefores.

He's basically Conte again. A bit less of a knob, but minus any charisma. Inzaghi is the Italian one to look at
He bossed the Poch though, saviour to many on here with arguably our best eleven in decades.

fudge id take any defensive manager that can grind out a one nil or two one win over what we currently have.

Edit: Ok wasn't our best

Daniel: "Morning Ange, how was your weekend?"
Ange: "Morning mate, yeh not bad mate, you know how it is, few more injuries. Story of our lives currently!"
Daniel: "Ha yep. Have you got five minutes in the boardroom?"

Fingers crossed...

Anyone coming in will, but hopefully they can manage the players better to lower the number of injuries we have at once.

Yep, I'm Ange out at this point. I've had my doubts about him from day 1 when that early 23/24 season run had these visible defensive chinks.

We've done a great job of ABA - Anything But Ange for the entire season. He's had a good ride from the fans who have been very understanding of the accentuating circumstances he's worked in.

I wasn't convinced with all the narratives early days saying that the players would break due to Ange's methods but would grow much stronger as they return. That theory seems to be complete BS. We all know that Ange will just keep totting up more and more injuries, even when he could be pulling back in training and protecting them between games.

To use a practical example, I also feel that if David Moyes had joined Spurs a couple of weeks back, he would have them more organised than we're seeing. He would likely get a clean sheet, and we would be hard to break down. All that, and with the same players. I'm not enjoying the arrogance and self indulgence of Ange to keep trying to play the same way and leave us so vulnerable to conceding goals. It's amateur hour.

As I've written before, I have no fear of changing 1st team coaches. The direction of travel at our club is good. The next guy, who hopefully a much better coach, will have a field day with our setup.
