the numbers since those first 10 games last season are there for all to see. yes we have injuries right now, but thats masking a deeper issue.

he is not good enough for us, and not suited to the PL. we need to sack him now to salvage anything from this season, let alone ensure we stay up.
The main argument for keeping him is the League Cup. Ironically, I think our only chance of going through is with a new man who’ll add a bit of unpredictability for Liverpool to deal with.

No way I see Ange getting a result there second leg.

As i've always suspected, maybe many of you are thinking of Ange now in the way the board have thought for a while...see the real lack of backing in the summer window.

Regardless of that, we should be doing much better in any case.

I do suspect board has nowhere left to go: within football coaching circles the good ones who could get much better out of this squad know how we are and there's only so many perceived broken promises they can muster before the only ones who'll take the job are the chancers who'll have a ready-made excuse lined-up when their coaching fails...oh well..

It’s Europa for me
That’s why you keep him
It’s a lower standard than the domestic cups and 2 legged
That gives us a fighting chance
Pool is a free hit
Villa are very beatable with our record there but timing of that isn’t good

Fully agreed. The other thing that is keeping him here seems to be an acknowledgement within the club that a lot of what's been going on is a result of injuries and fatigue, combined with where we are in the squad building process.

One of the worries with that is if we get more significant injuries before or as those already injured return.
The club must also know that a new manager won't want to walk into a collosal injury crisis either.

@Lilbaz remember after that Chelsea game when we ended up with 9 men, i said Ange showed some Ossie Ardiles tendencies and you shouted me down as if i'd been blasphemous...well look where we are now eh....

Panic stations would be if we were seeing these results without hope of much positive change.
The return of a number of players in the coming weeks and months means I'm nowhere near panic stations. Just in misery station.

I honestly don't think the missing players are that much better that it'll make a difference. The system is fundamentally flawed. Not sure even a squad like City's could make it work across a 60 game season.

He been sacked yet?
Doubt it, probably in charge of training and they wouldnt let him anywhere near the training pitches if he were to be sacked. He should have been sacked on previous form as many have gone for a lot less.

He has until the Liverpool semi final, and maybe longer if we win it, and somehow beat Leicester on Sunday.

However, if we lose Leicester he could be gone after that...

Honestly mate, there is no chance of us winning Europa with him IMO. The amount of “on our day” performances we’d need would be ridiculous. I’d have more confidence in winning that if we appointed someone like Rafa Benitez on an interim basis (not saying I want FSW by the way).

We're 15th, but only Liverpool have scored more than us. Crazy. If only we could defend.

They go together though. If we tightened up at the back, then the goals wouldn't be going in in their goal.

Management is about finding the balance between the two. When has that ever been the case with Ange? I don't even know whether he is capable of getting a defensive record of 30-35 goals over a 38 game season. That is even if you had the players to score 80-100 in the other goal. That is what our club need. Not another Ossie.

I was trying to hold on with Ange to prove to myself that given a full compliment of players he could perform. I actually think we're wasting everyone's time going through that process now, just to be the good guys. He's a dispensable asset. Just pay him off and move on. He's not on a huge salary anyway.

I also have a feeling this is the very reason we've just raised the £35m capital. It means we can switch managers and not impact the development of the squad. That hasn't been the case when we've paid the severance to guys like Jose and Conte.
