It showed a huge one to me and none of the players looked like they had a clue
He lost his courage today
I think we all thought Archie was going to get a spin in CM, when the X1 was announced.

To then see us play 5-2-2-1 or 3-4-2-1 depending on how high up Spence/Porro were playing was weird BUT even weirder considering this could have only been a consideration since Solankes injury (Friday) so eff all time to prepare it.

Plus Porro needs a rest, as he ain't gonna get one on Thursday with Spence and Reggie not registered for EL. Even if you didn't start Reggie...with the game likely gone at 3-0...at least a small silver lining is to get Porro off for 45mins.

It was complete and utter madness and smacked of separation and panic

But he doesn't use options available to him though. Lankshear would have been a far more suitable type of player for his system. Richarlison even if rusty could have started and been brought off earlier. Spence wasn't given a chance until he was forced to play him. There have been options available to him, to not play Son or Werner up front. We look very poor whenever we do but he'd rather play an experienced player out of position than use a more suitable young player.

The other thing is that we've had insane injuries two seasons in a road. They were bad last season and derailed the campaign after 10 games. They've been worse this season. And as players are coming back we are losing more. Thus is not normal and you read up on it and he's had injury problens at every club he's managed. He's generally been able to work with the medical and physio staff to iron them out but with the best will in the world the Scottish or Japanese leagues are nowhere near as intense physically.

I just do nor think this style of training and playing is sustainable at the elite level. The games are too intense, there are too many of them and there's just not enough recovery time. Players bodies are breaking.

Yeah fair enough. I don’t know enough about his historic injuries.

I would be having him sitting in those hyperice leg massage things with a warm blanket around his shoulders, massagers on his back (machines or human), a lovely fresh paella, and a prescribed binge watch of his favourite TV show. A glass of red vino to calm the nerves. I probably wouldn't let him leave the house without being in one of those see-through plastic ball things that protect you from the universe. Oh, and a shave. And a hamamm (jesus that nearly auto-corrected to 'hammy' which is in truth probably what he'll end up with!!!!!!)...

yeah I don't get where that came from either. We've had some really tough games this season and played very badly at points, but there's always been the feeling that Ange is in control, and while not accepting of the shortcomings there's a clear structure for the players to follow and thus improve as they go. Today he created absolute mayhem with a system change which honestly was the wrong one.

All he had to do was sit Gray in the centre of midfield behind Sarr and Bergvall, and we've got a ready made player to drop into the back four when someone bombs on, with the added benefit that the guy has a pass in his locker and reads the game really well.

Do that and we're probably a little harder to break down, a lot quicker getting the ball forwards and force Everton to go aerial. It just didn't make sense to strap on a new formation - I get we only had 11 players, but hell, the chance was there to field someone who has been playing admirably out of position in his natural role, and instead we had this weird back 3 for the first time since the manager joined us.

Insane - lets hope he's not cooked his goose (for those who want him to stay).

That fairly radical change of formation was found out to be bonkers. After a year and a half of what we do, mate, to change like that with such a patched up team suggests something is rotten in Denmark.

its possible he underestimated Everton. He would never, ever say that, but its possible. They have shown so little under deepthroat all season in terms of creativity that he probably thought we'd over power them. Really didn't pan out that way. It also took too long for us to come back into the game, likely because there were virtually no players available to change the game in a positive way on the bench.

You have to feel for the man, he's clearly passionate about the club and the job and this raft of injuries is destructive.

I honestly feel like if we can't win with our first choice centre halves, he's probably got to go, but I don't want to see him sacked while we're this decimated.
