Would be inclined to say no. We simply have no one who can play his role anywhere near as good as he can, and don't think we would be able to find many better. So the ?ú45mill, while a large sum, still wouldn't be able to replace the lad.

If Chelscum offered 45m plus Torres id accept. If Barca offered 45m plus say Messi? id accept.

I think Modric is a **** for how he acted in summer.

Well,hopefully we will know where we stand by mid-May regards HR, and if he leaves the new man needs to come in sharpish so we can get deals sorted sooner rather than later

I can see it being more like United with the offer. Not saying I would take it, but could see SAF offering Berbatov + ?ú20m
 
Regarding incomings in the Summer.

Sahin will be available for a nice cheap fee and a midfield trio of Sahin-Modric-Parker next season would turn me on.
LLorente/Rossi
Hoilett would be decent cover on the wings.
Jan from Ajax would be a nice CB to have on the books.
Krul from Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

That would be a nice transfer window.

Has there been anything substantial linking Sahin away from Real? I know he hasn't gotten much game time there, but I thought that was partly because of injuries. Would be a fantastic signing for most clubs in the world imo. And cheaply would be outstanding. Only worry would be that he could end up at Arsenal, I've heard Wenger admiring him in the past.
 
Sahin's fit but Mourinho doesn't fancy him and he hardly gets any game time.
There will be certainly a few clubs after him so it will be tough but he is a quality player.
