I remember when we were looking at Skriniar to partner Ledley, but we signed Dawson from Forest instead.
It was much later than that, in the summer of 2020.

Apparently we’re considering Ari Vaderci as a possible option if we can’t get Buonanotte over the line.Anyone seeing this Buonanotte link? Seems like he's been touted as leaving Leicester, going back to Brighton then on to us. Not sure how that works with number of clubs in one season.
Also, Buonanotte means good night. Not a great omen!
I'd love to know who you actually mean. Skriniar is 12 years younger, and Dawson joined us at 22 years old. He would have been 10.
So who was it? There was definitely someone.
Mate you need to do another one of your metaphors. The Susan Boyle one had me in stitches. I literally had tears running down and my side hurt! Superb! The upside is that you are not saddled with costs beyond the rent, you're flexible and can move as necessary, and are not at the whim of fluctuations which can massively devalue your investment.
I guess the question becomes what would Spurs have done in this transfer window if the league had gone to plan and we were 4-6th in the table? What would be our plays in the market to get some incremental improvement of this squad? What would get us into the CL places?
Perhaps this is me being arrogant, but I still think we should act like that in these next 10 days.
I don't think we'd've done anything different. We were short a backup GK, a starting RWF and a back-up LB. We signed Kinsky and tried for Munai. I don't think there's other RWFs or LBs available that we really fancy now.
Maybe. I like him and he seems a good fit. Veliz's old strike partner too!Buonanotte is an interesting link. Could he really be recalled and sold to us within the space of 10 days?
This one feels right to me.
Appreciated mate. I nearly got lost but we all arrived at the end LOL.Mate you need to do another one of your metaphors. The Susan Boyle one had me in stitches. I literally had tears running down and my side hurt! Superb!
I've heard we're also looking at Conceda Ownagolla, but we're probably already got good cover in that area, so probably not a priority.Apparently we’re considering Ari Vaderci as a possible option if we can’t get Buonanotte over the line.
Gyokeres!Maybe. I like him and he seems a good fit. Veliz's old strike partner too!
I just dont trust Brighton though. They only sell when value is at its highest. Players dont tend to go up after they leave them.
Im still not convinced. Id be keen to see him tested back in a big league. Is he a Les Ferdinand late bloomer or a Michu?Gyokeres!
He has stepped up at every level he has been given the opportunity tooIm still not convinced. Id be keen to see him tested back in a big league. Is he a Les Ferdinand late bloomer or a Michu?
He has stepped up at every level he has been given the opportunity too
It’s the case for a lot of players
Ivan Toney would be an example
Then you have your Ian wirghts, Vardys
If you watched him in the championship he did look a level above most on the pitch.Sure. It's just that we've all seen those strikers who boss it in leagues like Portugal or Holland, but can't make the jump up to England or Germany or Spain. I know his championship season bodes well over others who haven't experienced the pace and physicality.
He was brilliant for Coventry in the championship despite being really young. I loved the way he was an absolute nuisance to defenders as well as having an abundance of physical and footballing ability. It was easy to tell even back then that he was destined for really good things, hence why I talked him up as being a really good signing for us at that time.Sure. Would've been a brilliant signing from the championship and considerably cheaper than now.
So the price now may make it too much of a risk.
The Gyokeres ship has definitely sailed, not just because of age but because of cost and the fact that the player now has the pick of way more ambitious clubs than Spurs. The time to get him was a few years ago when he was being sold by Coventry.I think for us his age is likely an issue, especially him being the same age as Solanke and Richy. We probably need to be looking early 20s when we next look at a #9 (if it doesn't become Lankshear's shirt)
