We won’t have the budget for the £50m players for the quantity we need
We need 3/4 £25/£30m players that grow with the team and a couple more prospects
That’s still £150m

We can sign their players if we wanted to pay the fees
We don’t need the very best players. I belief we actually have some that are there or there about. We just need more of them

The post you replied to was talking about signing the very best players hence my replies.

Can we sign players from teams that finish 8th and below in the PL yeah, but we have to be smart about which ones we go for as PL players tend to be overpriced.

We have to be smart with every signing as we’re not city
And that was an example
It doesn’t have to be from the prem of course
We pay wages that would attract 99% of the players in the planet
The top 1% of them is what we need and we don’t need that many on that group
What we do need is ambitious players with during technical capabilities in their roles

It depends on what you want to achieve. For the top 4 I think you need at least 5 and I'd say we arguably have 1 maybe 2, 3 at a stretch if you think both first choice CBs are at that level.

Look at the teams in the top 4 currently
It’s all doable with smart choices and an element of luck too
The smart choices tend to make you luckier

The only team that applies to is Forest and they play a particular system that maximises their chances and minimises their risk. None of the other clubs currently in the top 4 okay that way and neither do we. Besides which that's the table as it stands right now, it doesn't really matter, it's about at the end of 38 games. Same reason I never really buy into the whole "we are x points away from 4th" at various points of this season. We've never looked like a top 4 capable team this season.
 
For the type of team we are aiming to be we need quite a few more of that top 1% but I agree they don't have to be 60m - 100m+ signings. Every player starts somewhere so if you invest at the right time you can pick up gems.
 
Have to say I don't understand the delay with bringing in a left back, which would be a priority for me, so we can play Djed on the right. Find the best left back in the Championship and pay whatever you need to - it goes against levy's principles but unless we get out of this cycle of losing, we will be in danger of being right in a relegation scrap. This season is a write-off but as Man U have found out, just changing the manager isn't a recipe for instant success. The team need the morale boost from having some new faces, in order to survive this season. Then replace the manager in the summer.
