The transfer thread

the only two names on our list
Doubtful. Spurs (the data teams, Lange and Paratici) are tracking a thousand players at any one time. When we sign someone we always say "yeah we tracked him since he first played for Zanzibar Rovers when he was 12".
The full list is enormous.
We are constantly talking to clubs and checking what they want vs what we think a player is worth.
We must have a load of ongoing conversations with clubs right now to see if we can wheedle and winkle a willing whelk from some European crevice you've never heard of.
Zvenik Zvezda's left back. Arminia Bielefeld's right winger. Qarabag's DM. Genk's centre back. And Japhet Tanganga

But very few on our serious list will also tick the 'available in january' box. January is generally brick clubs panic buying unwanted players

The longer January goes on the less essential ((or worth it) it is to cover some positions.

Benny is back and we are two weeks off Romero and VDV being back. So unless we have a serious permanent target that is do-able in January, a cover or stopgap option for CB is only useful for two weeks.

Similarly with Moore and Richie now available we do have options in the forward positions.

With the CHs back, Archie will be back to cover FB and hopefully get some mins in CM.

If we can land someone on our 'serious list', go for it, especially if it looks like we are stealing are march on a competitor.

Obviously the caveat being in two weeks we might have another 4 injuries ?

One of my sales guys used to live 2 doors down from the greys knows the dad well and his son is currently at Leeds academy with Danny roses boy .

Grey the younger is 100% being talked about as a top top talent .

From what he has heard they are in no rush to sell as they think there is a huge fee for him in a few years

No clue if we are interested/trying though

I hadn't heard about Harry Gray's back injury until today. It's pretty crazy.
In August last year Farke said Gray would be out for a few weeks with a sore back from growing pains:
Hot prospect Harry Gray is expected to return to action later this month. It was feared that the Leeds United teenager, the younger brother of former Whites star Archie, faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a back issue.

But manager Daniel Farke is confident the 15-year-old will be back in the fold within a "few weeks". Farke has taken a closer look at the striker in pre-season, having included him in the senior squad for their recent Germany training camp. Gray played in one of the two-behind-closed-doors friendlies.

Speaking after United's 2-1 pre-season friendly win over La Liga side Valencia, Farke told the media: “With Harry he's got some back problems, due to his age and his growing, you have to be a bit careful. We had him there in Germany, still felt the pain, has felt it over the last weeks and there was an assessment and a little problem. Nothing major.

And then on Dec 30th he still wasn't back:

As for Harry Gray, the 16-year-old has not yet returned to team training with the senior side following a back problem that cropped up towards the end of Leeds' pre-season training camp in Germany. Farke says Gray will be allowed to ease himself back into action with the Under 21s when he's ready.

"He was not back in our team training," said Farke. "Lots of individual stuff in his rehab work. His first steps is more like the Under 21s level, we won't rush him. He should get a first taste of senior football in the summer. It was always the plan to let him develop calmly more or less with the Under 21s. Right now after his longterm injury he'll make his steps further on with the Under 21s. There will be a time when he's involved in training but at the moment it's right not to rush."

They don’t have a choice to sell. It’s up the player at that age
But we would have to be smart about linger terms options with Leeds
We have been linked with him ever since we got his brother

Just passing on what I was told .

Sorry Not clued up about the contractual side of youth players . Seems he could have been offered one but not allows to sign it til he is 17 ?
Hey I wasn’t having a go for sure
I just know that young players can walk and then it’s done to compensation payments
