Two PL clubs keen on signing Luiz from Juve

Latest from Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol:
Two Premier League clubs want to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus.
Juventus signed Luiz in the summer from Aston Villa for £21m, plus winger Samuel Iling-Junior and midfielder Enzo Barrenechea.
The player is very open to returning to the Premier League.
Juventus are considering loan plus obligation offers
Was outstanding over the last few years at villa

Muani other than PSG tax isn't much cop either. No real pace there IMO and his output has been ok
He's not slow though and he can genuinely play all across the front line. Given the injury situation we have his versatility offers lots of cover, plus he is a good player. Not a world beater but then none of our forwards are, he offers more presence than say Son or Johnson do. I'd happily take him on loan initially to evaluate how well he might work for us.

I've always thought he looks quick. He's a bit awkward and never looks like he has the ball under control, but he'll run at defenders and get past them. He seems to have a decent eye for an offload, and a good finish on him too. He's not perfect, but he's probably halfway between Johnson and peak Son; which is an improvement on Johnson and waning Son.

I have no opinion on Muani, but I do have concerns that Spurs could go down the mediocrity path at this phase of the transformation.

Are we about to buy 3 or 4 players again, when we should be buying 1.

I have so many of those t-shirts over the years.

I think the ideal would be loan with an option. Basically the same deal we had with Werner 12 months ago. I'd probably cancel Werner's loan too, to get Muani into the squad/free up those wages.

It gives 6 months to evaluate Moore, Odobert and Yang's progress too, before deciding how big we go on a long term senior WF signing.

We should still have enough money then for a Tomori or Mitchell this window.

Yeh maybe its that, what I have seen of him is awkward and clumsy, defenders often get a good chance to get back at him and often do from what I have seen of him. A loan is a shot to nothing I suppose but I agree with the other poster, come summer we need to be going for 1 very good winger who makes a difference, not looking to collect 5 who are OK

I think we have to be fortunate we are actually after him and what looks like we have a chance. I don't think we are as attractive as City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or even United to be honest (despite their current brick show) but sometimes can beat those listed to the odd player. If we can beat some other teams as well as united (who I think are after him from that group) to his signature though I think it will be a good coup. PSG signed him remember, it just appears Enrique doesn't like him so I think he would be on a lot of teams wishlist.

So if we ended up this window with Kinski, Tomori, Mitchell and Muani, how far have we moved the long term needle? That is, especially, if Muani converts and it is another £100m invested in our manager. Would Ange guarantee that they all fit Ange-ball like a glove?

Knowing Villa would probably buy all of these players, I wonder how many Liverpool would buy?

By the way, this as much me asking myself these tough questions as you guys.

I think Muani loan would be with an obligation to buy. I wanted us to sign him after the World Cup. Thought he looked an exciting talent. I know that it didn’t work out at PSG but I get the feeling that that’s not always a good measurement of a player or manager. If we sign him I think it’s an exciting signing to be making.

Best deal would be loan with first refusal

If he sets the league on fire we get him, if not we can just say nah

Clearly a talented player on his day

Mitchell would be a decent back up LB, a good PL player going forward and back, Liverpool have Tsimikas, who is solid enough and does a job when comes in, Mitchell would be the same.

Out of contract in the summer as well, won't cost a fortune

I just listened to the pod. Milo was saying you can only make 3 changes from what we've already registered with UEFA.

I'm not sure what you mean by brutal. For me, that would have to be Venom, VDV, Romero, Biss, Bents level omissions to keep them PL focused.
If we got another forward I'd take Richi out and replace him

We need to get Spence in really

Wed definitely be stronger but would need to get rid of Richie as he adds little imo.

Also I've realised I'm Johnnie fudging Jackson, what a blast from the past. Had spikey hair and was shhhiiiiiiiiiiit.

When do I become Rory what's his name called with the curtains? Played in the Teddy era..

Edit. Allen.

Allen no relation to Les, Clive or Paul

I don't think we need both Tomori and Mitchell, just one. Medium-to-long term LB is where we are short (we have 7 CBs on our books but only 1 LB + Regulion), but a quasi CB-LB could be useful for the current injury situation.

But say Kinski, Mitchell and Muani. I think that hits our 3 biggest gaps in the squad - capable cover for Vicario, and rotation options for Udogie and Johnson (assuming Kulu is starting ACM now). It would be a very decent January window IMO.

Then in the summer we'd have Vuscovic coming in for Davies. We'd need to evaluate Odobert and Moore at LW and if we supplement that. And otherwise would need to decide to stick or twist with Richarlison and Bissouma (and maybe Romero).

Pace rating of 90 on EA, which is higher than both Son & Johnson, so hardly "not quick"

I actually think he's a super interesting gamble, he's big, quick, reasonably physical, seems to assist as much as he scores and is very effective in the air (another weakness area for us), can play anywhere across front line.

Clearly PSG hasn't worked out for him (hardly the first there), seems to be a bit of a late bloomer, if it works, it would be a huge win. Bonus, he's accustomed playing with a chicken badge already.

Fun fact about Rory Allen

He sent his letter of resignation into Portsmouth from Australia whilst watching the Ashes

Portsmouth had no idea.
