The transfer thread

I don't think we need both Tomori and Mitchell, just one. Medium-to-long term LB is where we are short (we have 7 CBs on our books but only 1 LB + Regulion), but a quasi CB-LB could be useful for the current injury situation.

But say Kinski, Mitchell and Muani. I think that hits our 3 biggest gaps in the squad - capable cover for Vicario, and rotation options for Udogie and Johnson (assuming Kulu is starting ACM now). It would be a very decent January window IMO.

Then in the summer we'd have Vuscovic coming in for Davies. We'd need to evaluate Odobert and Moore at LW and if we supplement that. And otherwise would need to decide to stick or twist with Richarlison and Bissouma (and maybe Romero).
Can’t believe I’m saying it, but I fully agree

I have no opinion on Muani, but I do have concerns that Spurs could go down the mediocrity path at this phase of the transformation.

Are we about to buy 3 or 4 players again, when we should be buying 1.

I have so many of those t-shirts over the years.
I think the twin approach has been explained.

If we can get anyone that we've been following/monitoring in January...all good.

Beyond that, loan stopgaps hence I dont think we're interested in obligation clauses. Of course, we will have a view of the loaning clubs finances, so come the backend of January that obligation might become an option.

So would Mitchell and Tomori be at the top of our "following/monitoring database"?

I can see the value of these players but if you're plotting player matches against an Ange system in a data model then I'm less sure.

It feels like Minsky would be a tight match, and I would assume Muani matches based on what I've read.

I think both clubs won't want loans for Mitchell and Tomori. They'll want to do a deal.

Pace rating of 90 on EA, which is higher than both Son & Johnson, so hardly "not quick"

I actually think he's a super interesting gamble, he's big, quick, reasonably physical, seems to assist as much as he scores and is very effective in the air (another weakness area for us), can play anywhere across front line.

Clearly PSG hasn't worked out for him (hardly the first there), seems to be a bit of a late bloomer, if it works, it would be a huge win. Bonus, he's accustomed playing with a chicken badge already.

Agreed. I think if we went for him and got it done we'd have no grounds for complaint.

Three scenarios in my head. All fictional. Might be a grain of truth somewhere.

1. He's a smokescreen for our Gyokeres move.
2. He's a press fabrication which the levy bashers will use to cite out lack of ambition for years to come.
3. We choose someone else cos he's better suited to Ange's philosophy.

Either way I don't see it happening.

We need to boost our HG numbers too, which weighs in their advantage perhaps over a complete unknown data find from Lange. Especially when we are talking about back-up LBs. Odobert, Grey and Solanke shows he's also not shy of the EPL/championship, like Paratici alone seemed to be.

Mitchell is out of contract in June, so we could probably get him for about £5m.

Tomori will probably be about £20m, which wont completely break the bank either (maybe we could push Girona to finalise Gil, or Leeds with Solomon, to part fund it?).

Paratici reportedly had interest in him going back to when he was at Nantes, so you sense there could be some truth in it: https://www.footmercato.net/a594540...aliver-le-bayern-monchengladbach-et-tottenham

Wed definitely be stronger but would need to get rid of Richie as he adds little imo.

Also I've realised I'm Johnnie fudging Jackson, what a blast from the past. Had spikey hair and was shhhiiiiiiiiiiit.

When do I become Rory what's his name called with the curtains? Played in the Teddy era..

Edit. Allen.
Funny because Johnnie Jackson is an arsenal supporting clam.
