From the above one could deduct the fee has been agreed and it's now down to the player to make a decision?

Not sure that you can go that far. Think you can definitely say that contact between Spurs and Lyon has taken place; dont think its a given from the comments whether a fee has been agreed on not.

If the comments are genuine them I'mpleasantly surprised as I think we need to be signing a GK and we might potentially have more money than I expected

Poor Lloris, I think weve dingdonged him around and he wants to come here.

How? We need to agree a fee with his club and from all the comments from the Lyon President suggest that that has taken a while and still might not have been agreed

Not really. We're an English club and therefore want bigger fees for our players

how much did Arse sell Fabregas for?

ive said this before, if we were selling Modric to an English club we could realistically expect 40 mill from the likes of Utd, City or Chelsea. But there is only one club in this deal and its Real, and tbf id rather sell to Real than an English club even if it means that we receive less in compensation.

Lloris' father has an agent? :-s

Have you not heard the term Father Agent? These people are like gods and become secondary father figures to many players... In fact, many fathers become secondary fathers behind the agent. These people are gods, omnipotent beings who are winning all the negotiations... Some might call them daddy.

wasnt Lloris a done deal in New York and we were bringing him home as duty free???

is Lloris a striker?

Sweeper Keeper or something. Maybe that's like an inside forward quarter backing defensive line backer? So he could score the goals and save them, depending on whether we are in an offensive or defensive period with the bases loaded?

To me it reads as - we've made enquiries - they've quoted us on price / availability - we've deemed that acceptable and now wait on the player to decide

Fernando Llorente's situation at Athletic Club Bilbao looks more fragile by the day and reports in the Spanish press that he's told the club he wants to leave this summer have already made their way around Europe and various press outlets are linking likely clubs with the Spanish international striker.

Gazzetta in Italy pushes the Juventus agnle, saying that he would be a cheaper alternative to Robin van Persie and that they could get him for around €20m, which is a lot less than his buy-out clause with the Basque club.

The Italian outlet claim that Basque TV station ETB says the battle for his signature will be between Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Serie A side Juventus. Llorente was linked with a move to the Manchester club last week when it was claimed that they could even try and sign him on a pre-contract agreement in January which would see him join the Old Trafford club for nothing when his current deal expires next summer.

A move from Bilbao had always seemed unlikely given the strong link that he's said to have with the club and supporters but that has been tested with fans giving him grief and whistling during a game because he has refused the club's final contract offer.

Gazzetta are probably correct to assume that he'd be available for less than his buy-out clause, because he only has a year left on his contract but his price will surely still be high, especially if several clubs declare an interest in signing him.

That may make Tottenham think twice but if they want a top level striker then they're probably going to have to pay top money for one. Manchester United could see him as an alternative to Van Persie if something goes wrong with that deal and Juventus are no doubt of the same mind.

To be fair usually when a player comes out and says he's spoken to his compatriot about moving, there's something going on. Similar story before the Vertonghen transfer....
