get behind the manager and stop being so aggresive

It's not aggressive to say someone needs to shut up. Nor does it mean I am not behind the Manager. But if he makes comments like that then I can see why he tinkles players off and lost the Chelsea dressing room. He should be sitting on the fence or backing (at least sympathising with the players) publically in these instances.

but what did he say wrong? all he said was that he couldnt understand why Gio came out with the statement he did

ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS has blasted Giovani dos Santos for saying he wants to quit Tottenham.

The Mexican midfielder, signed from Barcelona four years ago, last week ruled out staying at White Hart Lane when his deal expires in 12 months.
Dos Santos, 23, currently at the Olympics, wants to return to Spain.
Tottenham boss AVB said: “I am not sure what Gio’s thought process was, coming out with a statement like that.
“The player is contracted to the club. We respect him and are counting on him to return to club duty.
“Then we will make a decision that is best for the club.”
Villas-Boas has suffered another setback — Rafael van der Vaart is out of their showdown with Liverpool here tomorrow after getting crocked again.
The Dutch master injured his groin in the 1-1 draw at LA Galaxy earler this week.
AVB originally said that he expected the player to be fit to face Brendan Rodgers’ men.
But the injury appears to be more serious than first thought.

Again, I don't see where he's 'blasted' Gio in any shape or form. In fact, in his 'we respect him and are counting on him to return to club duty', AVB's probably shown more public respect for Gio than 'Arry did during his entire tenure here. He's stated that he doesn't know the reasons for Gio's public declaration but is counting on him to return to training on time so he can evaluate him and see if he's good enough.

Hardly a Niko-style blast.

Llorente earns about a 1/3 fo that. Same with the few 'shiners' in Russia, Argentina, Germany etc.

There are plenty of options out there - please, enough with the excuses

That is the top 50 strikers in Europe last season, now go through them and find ones that are affordable, getable and you'd want to see in a Spurs shirt.

Llorente, Adebayor, Nene, KJH, Kiessling, Soldado - are all possible options, imv

Your list excludes many up and coming players, btw and is purely based on goals scored, not ability

What exactly is your point? That we cannot afford a striker and we should accept the fact that for the 9th window running we have failed to replace Berbatov

2 of the above should be affordable and would strengthen our attack

All the stuff about bubbles in the transfer market - the only way it will revert back to normal is if the oligarchs, sheikhs etc who have bought clubs as trophy assets and plough money into the clubs suddenly decide that they dont want to bank-roll teams any more. They dont buy the club as investments per se in that they're not looking to make a given % profit - clubs are toys for them

Perhaps if the financial fair play rules have real teeth then things could be brought down to earth but I dont think there's a person on the planet who honestly expects the rules to be so water-tight that clubs cant find a way around them

re niko. bigger club only because fat fudges like you have joined the ranks.

re MK. Don't see how AVB's comments were a "blast" of any kind. "fudge off you stupid podgy mexican girly ****ish ****" is a blast. "We respect the player...blah blah" is not.

If things get really desperate, we may need to go cap in hand to Chelski and get Sturridge for sub £10m, and Lukaku on loan
