It's not Football Manager. These players will cost a LOT of money. Money we don't have.

Why? We have spent fuk all over the last 2 years and in Jan 2011 we were allegedly bidding ?ú40m for top strikers in Spain, where has all the monet gone? What is our net expenditure on player sales since summer 2010 when we made CL

The last thing the world needs is another platform for these pricks to spout their flimflam to some naive people who want to believe them.
The whole thing should be completely discouraged.

So its looks like Vertonghen is going to hand in a transfer request to force through the transfer. Are all the people on here, who were up in arms over Mdoric doing the same thing last summer, okay with this now the shoe is on the other foot?

I don't think the media will bother half as much as last year trying to sell our players.

They're already printing stuff like this - http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/21/harry-redknapp-daniel-levy-spurs

"Almost every glamour club in Europe covets Bale yet Levy will highlight the three years that remain on his contract and refuse to sell, unless an extraordinary offer were to be forthcoming, in the region of ?ú60m. It will be the same with Modric, whom Levy would not sell last summer to Chelsea for ?ú40m"

and

"Transfer requests mean little to Levy."

Modric wants out to Chelsea + Torres out of favour + Spurs needing a striker = swap deal on the cards.

I'm not ITK, I'm just practical!

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric close to transfer request but Harry Redknapp will demand ?ú50m

Luka Modric is considering handing in a transfer request to force a move away from Tottenham Hotspur when the transfer window opens.

Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Emirates Marketing Project are all interested in signing the 26-year-old Croatian midfielder.

Modric is hoping to hold talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to ask for a move again and will cite the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League for the second season running as his primary reason.

Although contracted to Tottenham until 2016, Modric has refused to agree to the improved deal that the club wanted him to sign after fending off Chelsea’s interest last year.

Chelsea made several bids last summer, culminating in an unsuccessful formal bid of ?ú40 million.

If the player leaves, it is understood that Spurs would prefer him to move away from the Premier League although not even Real Madrid are prepared to offer a fee of ?ú50 million, which is understood to be the amount Levy would find acceptable.

Modric is keen to avoid a rerun of last year’s damaging transfer saga, which upset Spurs’ start to the season and would like his future decided after Euro 2012.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich made signing Modric a personal quest last year and is understood to have told the player’s advisers that he would continue with another offer this summer. It remains to be seen whether he still has that resolve as he considers how to reshape the club’s squad, which could involve hijacking City’s attempts to sign Lille’s Eden Hazard.

Neither City nor United want to be involved in a bidding war for Modric, who has declared that he would *prefer to stay in London if he leaves Spurs. He could hugely increase his wages with a transfer but would insist his main motivation is Champions League football.

With fourth-placed Spurs denied a place in that tournament because Chelsea won it, the north London club’s bargaining position has weakened, especially as another of their prize assets, Gareth Bale, has declared that he would not want to miss out in Europe’s leading competition again.

Barcelona are interested in Bale, who is under contract until 2015, but have made it clear they will not pay too much for him.

Levy is moving quickly to try to improve the Spurs squad, however, and it is understood that he was in Holland last night in an attempt to seal the signing of Ajax centre-back Jan Vertonghen, who was named player of the season in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Arsenal have also been scouting the 25 year-old but it is understood that his desire to join Tottenham has been unaffected by Chelsea taking England’s fourth Champions League place. The Belgium international would cost about ?ú11million.

It is also thought that Spurs manager Harry Redknapp was in Paris last week to meet Marseille striker Lo?»c R?®my, who the club tried to sign in January.

Talks have progressed positively in recent days with Emmanuel Adebayor, whose loan spell expired at the end of the season. Adebayor’s Emirates Marketing Project contract is worth ?ú170,000 a week, but it is understood that Tottenham are ready to make a ?ú4 million up-front payment if he agrees to a ?ú100,000-a-week deal to remain at the club until 2016.

Spurs are also expected to offer Beno?«t Assou-Ekotto a new deal. Levy will resist interest in his star players.

he will cite OUR failure as the reason HE wants to leave? He's not playing for Tottenham then ?

i hate lines like that. probably never even said it

Emirates Marketing Project prepared to risk losing Eden Hazard to Chelsea over his ?ú200,000 a week wage demands.

Those two clubs can seriously go fudge themselves.

I voted 'no'

Prefer one massive cess-pit where everything is chucked, stirred and stewed. Then swallowed by the masses so we can begin arguing amongst each-other over information as credible as a Nigerian business proposal.

Remember how I said I'd never gone on there?

I have now. There's a reason "Jersey Mike" "can hear that wiseapple chuckling from here."

I wonder how long it'll take those schmucks to figure it out. Shhhh...

Does that count as ITK?

The ITK thread(s) should be in in two forms;
Firstly, There should be a comment less log where people may post ITK from twitter, unknown whisperings or other such sources that ITK folklore dictates. This thread/log would be stickied to allow for convenience for those who may seek to establish whether a poster has a legitimate claim to the acclaimed position of 'In The Know' which would have their avatar denoted with said position or if illegitimate would have the position of 'trumper' denoted on said avatar for a period time befitting the seriousness or gravity of said claim.

Secondly, there should be an ITK thread used for the discussion of ITK in which there can be debates on the legitimacy of the ITK or possible outcomes or an attempt to decipher the offerings from the ITK community.

Please Note, that the backpage of the paper's, the official site of any club and any mainstream sources of rumours will simply not be recognised or tolerated as ITK
