I second this question! I must have missed the genesis of this term as everyone on here seems to be talking about it like it's standard knowledge!

A sweeper keeper is a type of goalkeeper that has derived from the old position of a sweeper. To define a sweeper keeper you must first look at what this sweeper did and why it has become a rarity in modern day football.
A sweeper is most common in a 3 man central defensive set up, while the two on the outsides are set to man mark the strikers the sweeper would lie behind them picking up any loose balls or men that sneak past his partners. Due to this his primary job is to mop up and protect the goalkeeper as the last line of defence with his feet or his head.
Now that this is cleared up the sweeper keeper role is quite easy to understand. In modern day football two central defenders are common practice so that middle role is often left exposed. The main job of the sweeper keeper is to rush out and provide the last ditch tackles and saves similar to a sweeper but also join the defence when on the ball to give an extra option and keep the tempo of the team easily.

Shamelessly stolen, but it does define the mythical SWEEPER KEEPER.
