If Modric kicks up an even more massive tantrum about leaving than he did last summer, we should look at Kevin Strootman from PSV as a replacement. You know, seeing as we're going Dutch and all. Good passer, good tackler and good goalscorer.

well when VDV was asked directly he didnt deny it....doesnt his wife work for a tv station quite close to Schalke?? maybe she is sick of commuting and VDV also wants to be closer to her on a daily basis.....i mean, who can blame him

I was hoping DL might have enquired while he wast there last week. Would love be a decent signing. Was on Uniteds radar too

Can't see it happening, completely sideways move for VDV as Schalke are the Spurs of the Bundeslige... only difference being they got CL football. Still think this is bollox tho

Could change our style of play, his early runs into the box could potentially end our problems with packed defences. Personally, if DL was looking for signings from Holland, he could do worse than pick up Vertonghen, Strootman and De Jong. Those three could strengthen the spine of our side, and wouldn't cost a lot more than what we'd get for Modric, leaving us free to pick up another striker and wing cover as well.

Ah, the power of FM transfers.;)
