Personally i think he bricks on Lennon in terms of goal threat. His finishing or lack of it is also exaggerated on here. He gets himself in good positions and strikes the ball very well. Is he a bad finisher? he's similar to Luis Suarez in terms of finishing imo, so basically he's not the best in terms of finishing for a striker but he's an excellent finisher for a player that will play cm or a supporting withdrawn role on the right.
The fact Levy is off to France 1 day before lockdown is quite telling, imv - you would imagine the chairman would be 'present' on what would be our single most expensive purchase of all time and around 10m more than what we've ever spent on a player.
Unless the Moutinho deal is all but complete, hence the done in 24 hours forecasts. The transfer with Remy or another player in the French leagues could be more complicated therefore meriting Levy being in France.
Do you not think some journo/airport toilet cleaner/common wum - would have picked up on Levy flying / being / walking around in oPorto should that have been the case?
Come off it, africanspurs aside did any itk predict dembele before the news broke?Do you not think some journo/airport toilet cleaner/common wum - would have picked up on Levy flying / being / walking around in oPorto should that have been the case?
No....they said Moutinho was over here
So Levy in France is actually breaking news on SSN.
Come off it, africanspurs aside did any itk predict dembele before the news broke?
Which is ever more bollox, imv because he would have been spotted already. By now - SSN have their 'DEADLINE DAY EXTRAVAGANZA' cameras in just about every corner, training ground and Burger King
These days very few players can arrive unseen unless they charter a private jet which is unlikely in this particular instance. Remember Pav 4 years ago?
He is an AM who can also do the job of a CM.
My point is - one of Demebele's strong selling points (both for Levy and AVB) I would imagine was his versatility in the middle third of the field. He can cover numerous positions looks comfortable on the table and most improtantly - carry the ball 'forward' and beat oppoents (often from a standing position)
I know Lennon is a fan favourite but we really do need to upgrade on him. That 1 move he has got where he fakes to go one way and goes to the touch line to cross has been found out. Against WBA he did it and the defender was already waiting for the trick before Lennon had even thought about doing it.
Where he plays and what he is - different aspects
He does the 'job' very well (excellnt at times) - hence the purchase - he's not merely covering it but pefroming admirably - again, going back to the earlier comment of versatiliy.
If you disagree - fair enough, but I think we'll see him in more advanced than central midfielder positions this year - just my guess
Pity the chalkboard fell away - massive tool in such debates
Serious Joey Barton fears.
