Nothing happens on a weekend though. Anyway, have a pic of Vertonghen at WHL

I forgot he is a pool player still. No worse than some of the brick that plays for them now.

A MUCH better player than Downing. I've never understood the hate for Joe Cole, personally I think he's a very good player now he's properly fit again....

Doesn't exactly mean that much.. it's not hard to be a much better player then downing.. 8-[

Oh I know that, just responding to the guy saying he is no worse than what Pool have got now. I think he's about the only one on a par with Suarez and Gerrard on a technical level. If it was some French player putting in the performances he has been over there this season many on here would be calling for us to be in for him....

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic claims he is aware that Real Madrid are interested in signing him

@Agent_ITalkKrap says:

Issues with Vertonghen's agent overcome, expect the signing to be announced by #Spurs in the coming few days

As previously tweeted don't be surprised to see Yakubu Aiyegbeni turn up the the lane!

Yakubu Aiyegbeni has indicated he could leave Blackburn following their relegation from the Premier League.

Blackburn are bracing themselves for bids for a number of their top stars following their drop into the Championship and top scorer Yakubu is sure to attract interest.

The former Everton and Portsmouth man, who scored 18 goals this season, is happy at Blackburn, but concedes he does not want to play in the Championship next season.

"I still have two years left with Blackburn, but I played in the Championship before," said Yakubu.

"It was good but I don't want to play in there again.

"In football, you never know what is going to be, but Blackburn really has been a part of me.

"I felt at home there but we'll see what is going to happen. I think it's too early to say whether I'll be moving on. I may be in the Championship. I may be in the Premier League."

As the 4th choice striker I'd have Yakubu over Louis Saha. The guy still knows where the goal is. Worked with Harry before. If he is a free (transfer fee-wise), we could do a lot worse

Edit: didnt see he has 2 years left. Wont be free then. #-o

Steven fletcher has a poor career goal scoring record in this league[/B], not the kind of player that will get you into the CL

As for Javis, I simply look at the kid Hoilett and see so much more potential

Load of nonsense. 30 goals in 96 games. 1 in 3, for Burnley and Wolves - hardly teams who create 10 good chances each week. He's hit double figures in the league in both seasons at Wolves.

Personally, I'd take him - I think he'd go for about ?ú7m if offered - and it would be a steal. Notice how most of his goals are tap ins, or headers - something we notoriously have sucked at the last 2 or 3 years.

Yes. I do quite like Matt Jarvis, but agree potential-wise Hoillett would be the better option of the two

Release clause as Blackburn were relegated? A la Demba Ba last season?
