Son Heung-Min

Not sure he is TBH, plays about 30 games a season and comes off the bench for 3rd of them, add in his injuries and sulks not sure he is consistent

Don't get me wrong, I infact like him but he is definitely a player, akin to Son who works in bunches more than consistently.
Not sure where did you got those stats from my friend.

According to the official PL stats, to date Son has made a total of 246 PL appearances for us, of which 48 were from the bench. This works out at just under one fifth (19.5%).

But the vast majority of his sub appearances (44 out of 48) were made in his first four seasons, between 2015-2019, ie before he had finally established himself as a regular first-teamer. Over the past four seasons (2019 t0 date) he has averaged just one appearance from the bench per season, meaning it's quite a rare occurence nowadays.

He is talking about Maddison

what to do to get more of these assists from kane to son:

does conte not favour quick transitions? seems like we've stopped having clear chances at goal from through balls. or has the opposition caught on?

The ball up to Kane is crucial. Having other options to play to us also important as that gives the opposition more to worry about and a bit more space for Kane to do his thing.

Romero back in, Doherty back in, Kulusevski back in. That would make the Kane to Son ball more likely to happen more frequently imo.

This - when opponents know Kane is our only creative outlet in midfield, we (basically Kane) are easier to shut down. That's why we look better with Bentancour, as he provides more creativity/attacking options.

he does, but the useless fudgers on the pitch can’t make an easy pass

Would need Son to get back to the player he was for any chance of that to happen.

I see the mood has changed, hate to say i told you so. Useless when he is not scoring, has absolutely nothing to offer when not on form. He is the streakiest of streaky players.

Today we really didn't have any choice but he needs to be benched when Richie is back. Coming off the bench hopefully when the game is stretched is the best chance for him to find his form.

I've also felt for most of this season that him and Kane in the same team is one passive off the ball player too many. Kane offers passing, hold up play and goals to compensate but Son's goals have dried up and as we go behind so often there's been little opportunity for him to spring a high line on the counter.

It has to be said that we have essentially lost a WC forward this season. For whatever reason his form has gone the way it has that's a tough loss for a team to take
We have lost one and gained a turd
Felt sorry for the 8 Koreans in front of me watching him lose that pass under his foot

I did enjoy his bravado of removing the mask after making that error, as if that had been the cause of all his problems and he was now set free:D….

I know there's enough to critique in his performances football wise without overanalyzing moments like the removal of the mask but it wasn't a great moment for the reasons you've eluded to - If he has to wear it for protection and pulls it off in a petulant manner and then takes a blow to the face it's a real aesop fable of avoidance of the actual issue and seems an unnecessary risk. I know it may come across as a bit hysterical but it's not a great example for the kids either - I bet there's a bunch with uncomfortable casts / protective wrappings and they can't just rip them off like Son who have a medical team picking stuff up after him.

Rather than laying in to him i do want to stress that having Richy there to take Son out of the firing line / keep him on his toes would be real handy, but noooo, another flimflam mystery injury has left us presumably playing him week in week out despite it evidently not working....

I alluded the other day, these so called injuries when returning to Spurs that seem to evaporate when on International duty. I make it three/four players injured before and after the WC but not during.

Funny that

Son's greatest strength the way I see it, is his directness and ability to go past players to get himself into position for shots or through balls. When this doesn't come off, it both looks awkward and is highly visible. It's a risky playstyle, he can't go under the radar returning passes for 90 minutes looking "solid". I don't think he's been all that horrible, but something's not right. I think he needs rest and a little time to "find himself" again, not play himself into form.
