Son Heung-Min

For 3-5-2, we don't have a forward-thinking midfielder - Hojbjerg is having a great season as box-to-box midfielder, but we need a player more focused on attacking, or it just looks muddled eith Biss, Bentancur and Hojbjerg all in there.

It's why I think the talk of another CM has legs, personally. Because it gives us the ability to play 3-5-2.
But we haven’t been linked with one

I don't know why we don't save Son for the second half, based on how Conte wants to play. He offers nothing to a defensive first half. Play Skipp, who is our best defensive midfielder. Bring Son on when we go for it in the second half, he's fresh and the opposition are tiring.

Two right wingers and a CM
Not one creative CM there

They're not right wingers, they're attacking midfielders that happen to play on the right. More like Eriksen than, say, Salah.

And I didn't say a creative CM. I said a forward-thinking CM. Conte doesn't seem to like purely creative players, but he does repeatedly refer to wanting players who make runs into the box and arrive late to get on the end of cutbacks and headers - he publicly wanted Hojbjerg to do more of that last season.

McKennie does that a lot, and probably fits the 'Conte' mold more than a pure No.10 type. An interesting option in January could also be Piotr Zielinski - will have 1.5 years left on his contract in Jan, and was angling for a big PL move in the summer.

I'd agree on Skipp, but I've seen nothing from Gil that I'd want to hang my managerial career on, it's easy for us to say give him minutes.

But equally those older more experienced players we are hanging hats on are doing very little for very long periods. I like Gil, never hidden that but I don't think it's hugely risky giving him more minutes in advanced areas for players who are doing very little themselves for 45 mins at a time

They are both right wingers
Sometimes they play central but that’s their role
I wish we were linked with a creative CM but I’ve not seen one
McKennie would be like getting an inferior bentacur

Conte doesn't use Sonny to his strength - chasing down balls in space, or cutting in and shooting. He won't do well when there's a wall of defenders in front of him.

As much as I like Sonny, if we keep Conte, I think we should replace Sonny with someone else that can fit Conte's system.

The problem is we don't know if Conte is staying or going, and Sonny can fit the style of a lot of managers who believe in attacking with pace and expoliting space behind the defence as a priority.

We haven’t had one genuine link to him
It’s fans linking him more than anything
I’d love him and think we would suit him too

Pretty sure Alli Gold said Paratichi/The Club were interested but Conte wasn't convinced, this was back in the summer so things can change on that front but suggests there's a link anyway

Maybe I should have said we havent had one link by a non spurs fan press guy then

I disagree, we like to play on the break, he’s had plenty of opportunities with the ball at his feet in one on one situations, he’s just had a lot of bad touches and poor decisions.

Was wondering if Conte was the problem for Son this morning but he was top scorer under Conte last season.Son looks to have a confidence problem or be in some sort of permanent decline for me.

He’s just not working hard enough, it’s mostly lack of concentration.
