Son Heung-Min

Great goal and must have been great for him too. Has looked out of form recently and even as a sub has struggled to make a positive impact. A goal should do his confidence a lot of good and it was really well taken too.

Son Heung-min Recovers from Struggle with Dramatic Late Win

Son Heung-min scored a game winner for Tottenham Hotspur against Watford in the English Premier League on Monday.

Son replaced Thomas Caroll in the 68th minute, when the game was tied at one. Son cleverly flicked a pass from Kieran Trippier's cross with the back of his heel and put the ball into the net in the 89th minute.

It was Son's fourth goal of the season and the first in three months since he scored against Crystal Palace in September.

With Monday's 2-1 victory, Tottenham moved up to third place in the league with 35 points from nine wins, eight draws and two losses.

The Daily Mail praised Son, saying "what it took to win the game with Son's inventive backheel."

The attention was welcome news for Son, who has been struggling to get playing time. He has been a substitute in the last five matches and has had trouble competing with Erik Lamela and Dele Alli as a winger.

I'm probably repeating what has been said but did anyone see the interview with Son and "Tripps"? Son ending it with jumping on KT's back and showing his delight :D

So nice to go into the new year with not just success but with a real good feel factor - and promise for success!!!!

Cannot wait to see our Spurs next year.

It was a superb strike. Kasper Schemichel is hard to beat at the best of times but to smack one near post top corner is beautiful.

Just watched a highlight reel... Son's goal was indeed a superb bit of play, but if anything, his pass to put in Chadli for the second was even better.

Agree. He showed more in this game than we have got out of Lamela in a while. He deserves to be in the team on the weekend.

I watched that clip a few times of Son's goal. Just before Lamela passes the ball to his right, at the 10 second mark, Carroll takes a quick peek to see where Son is.

Love that. Great anticipation of the possibilities. Then caps it with that one-touch pass to send in Son. Ahhhhhhh - lovely football.
