Sergio Reguilón

Saw something today that he's in talks to cancel his contract in Jan and move back to Seville.

Meh

The one thing I would say with this new Spurs leadership team is that they are ruthless.

No risk to Reggie getting injured this last weekend. We're 6 weeks away from the window opening and we're on a mission. 2 kids padded out the match day squad, with others travelling to Manchester.

Never know a time where our club acts like this with players who, to be fair, haven't done that much wrong. The Reggie situation is perhaps a little like we saw in Nov/Dec with Dier. Slight difference that Dier made a couple of appearances. Both fall from grace was staggering though.

Some on here seem to still rate him highly, I've never been a fan myself, an attacking LB that panicks when in any kind of advanced situation and isn't strong defensively? I don't see where the positives are with him.

It's saying something that two loan moves didn't work out and then Ange and his staff don't want to do anything with him - That's three different coaching regimes in a row that haven't been impressed and he's "lost" half a season just hanging out training. It doesn't help him nor the club so hopefully a solution can be found, but if it's letting him go on a free early it compounds how badly the transfer has worked out.

Sanchez was sold too when we had Davies and Royal as our only CB cover.

I like it.

I like Reguilon too, good player in the right system. I remember when the fear was that Real would trigger the buy back. But he's just not a good fit at all for this system.

It's pretty ruthless but I do agree with the way the club have handled it. These players are not rated by the manager and therefore clearly told they are not in his plans so they need to assess their options and find a new club, Either permanent or on loan if its close to the transfer deadline OR they won't play any football this season as they are not going to be registered.

No more situations like we had in the past, We now have examples of how we are being run so players in similar situations in the future will be able to look at what could happen and should be putting more pressure on their agents to find them a club when this situation arises. I'm sure the club put a lot of effort into finding options for Reguilon in the Summer.

We don't know for sure, maybe he had offers he just didn't like, or on lower wages, either way I'm on board with the new tougher approach (Where necessary)

To be fair, I thought he was heading the same way as Sess at one point. Pubalgia was a word I had never heard of before until I saw it next to his name in the 22/23 season. 26 games missed. Another 3 games with a hammy.

I was shocked that he had those 20 games in him last season and have an inkling that the club are worried about his robustness anyway, regardless whether he has the qualities. He probably won't be that "in your face" player again that we first saw when he joined and got him his Spanish caps. He's not going to get in for being a cultured footballer with a smart football brain, that's for sure.

I think we'll have a separation agreement in his hand by 1st Feb, if no offers. We'll do an Aurier.

A bit unneedishly clamish that second sentence there
Yeah, Was clearly in one of his moods again. I wish he'd either be completely honest and open, or just be diplomatic and stop trying to act smart all the time.

I get it, No one wants to answer Alistair Golds annoying questions every game but still...

I thought we were wishing they would!

No he was playing really well at the time, then got a biggish injury (can't remember what it was). Jose rushed him back a bit early and his form for us never recovered after that.

Seriously, what has happened regarding Reguillon here?
If i think back to Ange's first summer wasn't not on tour and getting regular minutes in pre-season then all of a sudden sent out on loan and not a minute played since?

It's highlighted even more now by our lack of bodies to cover Udogie...what's gone on???

He is only here because no one else wanted him
