Agreed but I think French league will get pretty strong over the next few years. Obviously kick started by the billionaires but that in turn will help drive other parts of the league.

I don't thin it will become a strong league if I read you correctly, seems more likely that it will become a bit of a copy of the Scottish league, but at a higher level. Two massive teams fighting it out for the trophies and a bit of a wasteland behind them. Clubs like Lyon, even though well run, won't be able to compete with the practically infinite amounts of money available to PSG and Monaco. Would love to see the rich clubs fail, but with those resources it's hard to see it happen. The lower clubs won't get regular CL football, won't be able to attract big players and will have to deal with the tax regulations withing a budget.

Perhaps if more billionaires get involved, but would they? Or would potential investors looking for a new toy look to a league without established teams like PSG and Monaco already dominating. We've seen it in the PL, after Chelsea and City, with United already dominant the ultra rich owners seem discouraged to try their hands there and have aimed for other leagues instead.

I have no problems with PSG or Monaco as clubs or their fans, but I would quite like to see both those clubs end up with financial problems like Malaga sooner rather than later.

Depends if you believe those 2 clubs will storm away from the others. They will most likely be the top 2 but that doesn't mean those beneath them won't be competitive, infact more money being in the league will raise the profile which in turn may lead to bigger tv contracts, more media exposure, bigger crowds etc all of which has the potential to provide a boost to all clubs. France have always produced stacks of good young players and there is a lot of talent to hoover up there which those 2 will probably avoid going by their current spending sprees so again possibilities exist there.

They already get 3 spots in the CL and there is talk of the CL widening so they may end up with 4 over the next few years.

Certainly one to monitor as the clubs at the top are already fairly strong, I'd like to see PSG get drawn against an English side next season.

I just think it's more likely that the rest of the league will fall behind like we've seen in Scotland and Spain, the financial differences will be too big to overcome on a regular basis if their investors are allowed to spend as they have and continue to do so. Of course we can all hope that they won't, I'm not holding my breath though.

The difference between "infinity money" and "improved money from media etc, but mitigated by the new tax laws" is just too big imo.

It will be interesting to see how they do in the CL (eventually for Monaco), some great players both at PSG and Monaco already and they both look likely to spend more as they go along. They will both make good "villains" to the heroes like Dortmund and (eventually) ourselves.
