***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Everton***

I believe lots of mangers do better than 7 defeats in 9 games. Gray played CB today. He didn’t need to. It was a head scratching set up and made us even less solid than we’ve been.

Look at the space they had in our half at times. Mad. Look at their press compared to ours. Theirs won them a goal, ours lost us a goal. Look at Son and Spence trying to dribble out facing their own goal with two players on them. All of that is a result of bad coaching and bad set up.
And it happens every bloody week

Bentancur, Bissouma, Solanke, Romero, VDV wouldn't have made a difference? Okeydokey.
Absolutely they would.
But it wasn't a one off.

Did you see the stat about the form since Nov 2023?
Win % was somewhere around 35/40%.
Defeat % was > 50%.

Those players have played in that period. To Ange's tactics.

Everything will be rosy red and bright lilywhite if we just change the manager now. That's all it takes. Got nothing to do with having half the squad injured the entire season.
A change in manager is the only thing that's guaranteed to work.
Just look at United. They appointed what is supposed to be the next Pep and supposedly the best young manager in the world. Look how well that is going...

He has only had a couple of months to be fair. Maybe see where he is at in 18ths

Exactly. We lost by 1. Not 4. That was my point. Everton and DCL will never score all of their chances.

Anyway - seems emotions are high and logic is out the window.

Might be time to log off.

Edit: to add. People were saying we could have lost by 8 against Liverpool. Maybe they meant 11-3 (even though Liverpool’s XG was 4.5) or maybe they just erased our goals and meant 8-0. Maybe they can let us know….illogical.

My emotions are high for sure.
This 'rinse and repeat' has to end at some time...at the risk of tinkling off a raft of people here, I remember similar angst over Poch from January 2019.

I have considered the second bit on a semi-permanent basis, just haven't quite got there yet. Some of the comments directed towards people NOT waving an axe for the manager over their heads have been fudging poor, and I've had to temper my responses several times...and when it gets to that point, it's time to control what one can control. In this case, taking what you suggested there on a longer basis. Let's see if I have the courage of my own convictions...

I didn't see your post on this head scratcher in the opening minutes, my mistake. I'm sure its there! Ange has been pillared for not being adaptable (see below). Then he adapts. Damned if he does and if he does not.

Point
We haven't only being suffering defeats since Romero and VdV had been out. 24 defears in 50 games is nowhere near good enough. Besides the first 10 games it has been poor.
Other mangers would change the system under the circumstances that Ange faces. Just about every other manger would give 18 year olds simple instructions, instead Ange has Gray playing some type of hybrid defender/midfielder role. Couldn't have made it much more compicated if he tried.

Ange is never pragmatic and never makes changes to the system just to get a result, every other manager would.

But he played a different setup today :D This is a prime example of how fans end up undermining a manager. Rather than let the manager stick to their vision, they build this narrative that Ange is rigid, inflexible. So he changes things, and it makes us worse.

I'm all for sacking Ange now. Not because he is useless, but because his position is untenable. How could anyone run a team facing such a lack of confidence in him? It is nigh on impossible.

I think any decent manager would not have waited 73 minutes being 3-0 down before doing the second change.
I think every decent can see that Son and Porro was s**t from the start and would have changed them at half time being 3-0 down. Or even better not have started them.
Ange have his favorites and he plays them til they break.

No. He believes in his system and that this is just a rough spell.

He probably also knows deep down that he won’t get another job at this level so a payoff would be nice. I wouldn’t walk if I was him.

Unlike that fudging coward Conte, he won't throw others under the bus and force himself out.

It's not about the injuries, it's the fact we've looked utterly clueless defensively for most of his time in charge and we keep playing the same way knowing how often it fails to get results.

I was okay with the starting line up and said it here. That’s because I thought Gray was playing CM. You look back, you’ll see that. When one poster posted the shape, I reacted shocked because it seemed insane to me. And so it proved.

That doesn’t make me a genius or anything. It was always likely.
