***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Everton***

You wanted him to change his philosophy???? Serious delusion. If you hire someone you know who they are, how they play.

I saw us both clear our lines and put the ball out of play.

We have a certain way of playing which is high risk. There isn't room for error. Is it flawed? It isn't that different to Emirates Marketing Project's way of playing. Which shows that if you get it right, it can be a highly effective system, but it is also prone to exposure if the team is not fully on it. And with so many players out, what do you expect?
Not delusion, I expect a manager to be flexible enough to adjust when the circumstances require it, and our circumstances require it.

Did you also see Son and Spence trying to dribble out from the edge of our box and lose it?

There are differences to the way City play, but more importantly they have world class players all over the pitch, we don't.

With so many players out I expect is to adapt and use a system and style of play that doesn't leave us wide open, so wide open that even Everton can score 3 against us.

The way we set up against Everton today was way too open. We were doing ok offensively in the first half but once Everton attacked we were vulnerable. That is on the manager. Everton couldn't buy a goal under Dyche. Today they score 3 and could have had more.

This manager can only stay if he can reasonably get us out of this mess using the players available. He lost to Arsenal in the week. Fair enough, they are sadly better than us. Today he lost to the team 1 place below us. We are in big trouble unless we pick up points soon. Which given we also have Europe restarting seems highly unlikely atm.
Maybe it’s the sound of my knee jerking but I have more faith in Mason to get us out of this hole than Ange. That’s why, for me, he has to go.

I'm still not worried about getting relegated. I'm dead against changing manager mid season. You rarely end up with anything other than make shift option. Mason wouldn't do any better with this depleted and fatigued squad.
The main thing now will be getting players back. It's a disaster of a season, but there are still plenty to play for.

Where do you see our points coming from?

But literally every side in the PL tries to play out now. Are you suggesting we shouldn’t? Or what setup are you suggesting? Long balls forward always?

I’ve wanted to see a back 3/5 for sometime.

I applaud him for trying it, but think he got the MF wrong in front of it.

I also think Spence and Porro were too attacking.

Spence played well, but Reggie might have offered more defensively.

Also, had Richi been able to start we would have had a more reliable out ball that allowed us to play longer, earlier.

Playing out from the back and trying to dribble on the edge of the box are two different things. It isn't a binary choice, dribble out or play long ball. Not every situation is the same, there are times to play out, and there are times to go long. Playing out every single time no matter what the situation is is where problems come in. Especially when the oppositon knows you are going to do it 99% of the time.

Did you watch the game? We did go long at times we do every game. But we’ll try to retain possession and play out if we can (as almost all sides do).

What the hell does he expect? It IS a familiar story.
Indeed, which is what the interviewer should have replied with. Along with, "Perhaps you'd do me the courtesy of looking at me while I'm talking to you as well, instead of staring at your fuсking shoes ... MATE."

I'm just sick of the sight of him now.

Forest don't...

There are degrees to which you play out. It has a place in the game but not every bloody time. You don't knock the ball to Spence when he's surrounded by 3 Arsenal players on the edge of his box. You don't try to beat two players when you're facing your own goal and have two Everton players on you. And when you get away with it, your mate shouldn't try it too.

There was a stat in November that we played the fewest long balls from our goal kicks in the league - 0.

There is a lot of room between playing out every time and hitting long balls every time. We frequently make terrible decisions on when to do it.

I agree, having 3 men on you should probably rule out a pass to a player lol. We are just suicidal at times

Do you think the side are playing as Postecoglou had envisioned?

You either hire a manager and let them build their vision, or just end up in a cycle of not letting managers build. Now it is too late for Ange, he has lost the fans, and no doubt Levy is asking for a shortlist of new managers.
If they are not - it's his job to make sure they do. That's what manager means.

I'll extrapolate from your comment that you think they are not.
Have they not been playing Ange's way since Nov 2023?
If they haven't - what has he done to change that?
If they have (which is what he has said), then the results are a result of his tactics.
