If you are behind the ball you can't be offside.
If the ball travels backwards to a player that player must be behind the ball, so on side.
I've only seen the still image - how did the ball end up with Royal, is he not offside when he headed the ball?
Royal is irrelevant, its the ball that count. But Kane was in front of Royal
Looks like they were just guessing were the ball was. If they're not sure the on pitch decision should stand. That’s onside, just seen the replays on BT. The lines they’ve drawn look dodgy as fudge!
what point of the ball have they drawn the line from?
But not ahead of the ball I don’t think? But Kane was in front of Royal
What makes no sense is they draw the line from royals head… not his body
Yet if an attacker receives the ball with his foot behind… the offside is drawn against his furthest forward body part
Are you new to football? He was 2 yards onside when the pass was made, which is where you judge offside from, not when you receive it.I've only seen the still image - how did the ball end up with Royal, is he not offside when he headed the ball?

We're guaranteed third (baring some really really odd results).Option 3 please Bob
If it takes longer than then a minute then the decision is subjective and a matter of opinion, rolling tapes backwards and forwards does not accurately represent what happened.nah, there shouldn't be a limit, take days if you need it, being right is the only thing that matters
According to this, direction of the pass is irrelevant:
https://behindthefootball.com/can-you-be-offside-from-a-backwards-pass/
Includes a Wolves example.
I still think the fact that the defender changes the direction of the ball is the relevant factor here?
YepThe line was from the ball no?
I'm guessing you've played Sunday league so you know every rule.Well I am.
That’s a mythI don't see anything about not being offside if the ball is passed backwards in the rules.
