*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Saudi Sportswashing Machine FC ***

I dont feel like crap, but I am angry with the decisions out there, which weren't really black or white. Ok the handball I can understand because of the rules, whilst it sucks it was 1-1. It is a different level of upset for me today, but as I said before the game as long as we tried and played our football we can do, then the result didnt matter. Alas, it does for the stupid refereeing and VAR.

What I am angry about is the following:

1) Blatant yellow card for Joelinton not given
2) Blatant second yellow card for Joelinton not given
3) Blatant Red Card for elbow for Joelinton
4) Blatant second yellow for Burn for the deliberate handball

They should have been down to 9 men essentially and we would have easily won.

Also the timewasting from those fcukers was bad, not the worst I've seen but still awful.

We are not having any luck go our way unfortunately, on injuries, ref decisions, fine margins (posts being hit, saves etc) and its highly frustrating.

Plus, you all know how bias one team, fans, manager can be, but Howe saying they deserved the win today is bullcrap. Also him saying they managed the game well at the end, what a clam. I used to think he was alright but he is a bit of a bellend now.
Super frustrating game all around. One of the big positives for me was how the players dealt with that. Didn't get anything for it, but kept playing fairly well, kept trying, created a decent amount of chances, didn't pick up needles cards or get into scraps. Looked to me focused and determined in difficult circumstances.

Agree. The handball for the goal wasn't a foul - it was accidental and too close for him to do anything about. The lack of cards was very dubious though.

Joelinton's arm is not by his side, he's set himself to try and block Bergvall's poked pass. His hand is about a foot or so away from his body. It's clearly a handball. I guarantee that gets given against us. I saw a terrible handball given against us against them several years back (so did you I'm sure) that last minute Dier 'handball' - joke. As for Burn not ngetting a second yellow, scandalous! Joelinton not getting two yellows was equally fudged.

Do you think Kulu's shoulder on Gordon should be a yellow too? You know, the one with actual blood everywhere rather than a little bump on Bergvall's noggin.

If it's just purely based on what colour shirt someone's wearing just admit it. I don't think either are yellows, you might want the game soft without anyone possibly bumping into anyone else but at the moment it's a contact sport.

No.
Do you think Kulusevski threw his shoulder into Gordon's face, or that Gordon collided with his shoulder? Not every instance of blood means a foul.
Joelinton is a nasty player. Two nasty hamstring challenges, what looked like a deliberate elbow as well...

It’s ok everyone saying the rules were applied for their first goal. But 9/10 the ref blows up on field. The fact he didn’t is because it’s Spurs and the easy thing to do is give the decision to the momentum media darlings - Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

Plus I am not convinced Joelinton didn't know he was getting a piece of that with his hand. I know there are some on this forum who love a bit of 'being fair' but that only works if it is fair. No-one but Joelinton knows what he knew about the contact with his hand, but judging by the player and my eyes, I'm prepared to say that's a poor call by the ref, and I feel certain we have had far far softer handballs given against us.
Anyone remember Moura getting hacked down from behind, falling forward, the ball hitting his arm as he fell from the foul, ball running to Kane I believe who scored, the goal being disallowed for handball in the build-up and us not even getting the initial foul?

Worst hand ball I've ever seen was the one on moura who was fouled, advantage played, it hit mouras hand as he lay on the deck and they got the free kick.

Anyway...to sum up my view of events at spurs..although I don't really post much!
In view of the circumstances...
I have decided to go into hibernation for the rest of this winter..that may very well last until the end of the season...
Have a Happy New Year everyone...
Coys....

People are really reading things I haven't said in regards to blood!

I think Joelinton is a brilliant player. And he's not quite fellaini levels of throwing elbows around but it happens when you've got that strength and ability to draw opponents in.

I just didn't see it as a deliberate elbow. I choose to not subscribe to this bizarre notion that every other team is full of villains and all our players are lovely fluffy bunny rabbits and the refs are all against us. It's very self serving.

And a red for the elbow. Ridiculous.

Dragusin take off due to fatigue, not injured

I have to say, isnt this entirely predictable? Once you get a side ravaged by injuries and short on players in certain areas then the remaining Players start to get run down physically and are more prone to injury/illness. It’s not rocket science. And interestingly, it’s the defence again arguably the area of the team most under pressure from injury and Ange’s style of play. That can’t just be coincidence. If you are the manager you need to have strategy to protect your remaining players so they do not succumb to illness or injury before your cover is back. Injuries have become his go-to excuse now. I’m afraid you have to deal with them at the top level and do all you can to minimise them including having more than 1 tactical system that takes some of the load off your defence.

I think it was deliberate, but not a foul, he's fending the player off.
Not every deliberate contact is a foul.
He had at least three other bookable offences today though, and IMHO was very fortunate to not be red carded.

"Liverpool Football Club acknowledges PGMOL’s admission of their failures last night. It is clear that the correct application of the laws of the game did not occur, resulting in sporting integrity being undermined.

We fully accept the pressures that match officials work under but these pressures are supposed to be alleviated, not exacerbated, by the existence and implementation of VAR.

It is therefore unsatisfactory that sufficient time was not afforded to allow the correct decision to be made and that there was no subsequent intervention.

That such failings have already been categorised as “significant human error” is also unacceptable. Any and all outcomes should be established only by the review and with full transparency.

This is vital for the reliability of future decision-making as it applies to all clubs with learnings being used to make improvements to processes in order to ensure this kind of situation cannot occur again.

In the meantime, we will explore the range of options available, given the clear need for escalation and resolution."

This is why Liverpool get favourable refereeing decisions. They had the guts to go after PGMOL, ironically after our game.

Here is Arsenal's

"Arsenal Football Club wholeheartedly supports Mikel Arteta’s post-match comments after yet more unacceptable refereeing and VAR errors on Saturday evening.

We’d also like to acknowledge the huge effort and performance from our players and travelling supporters at St James’ Park.

The Premier League is the best league in the world with the best players, coaches and supporters, all of whom deserve better. PGMOL urgently needs to address the standard of officiating and focus on action which moves us all on from retrospective analysis, attempted explanations and apologies.

We support the ongoing efforts of Chief Refereeing Officer, Howard Webb and would welcome working together to achieve the world-class officiating standards our league demands."

It is an even stronger message than Liverpool's, but had a positive impact.

I genuinely believe that this weekend Levy needs to sanction an equivalent comm from THFC. We now need to go on the offensive against PGMOL. Howard Webb needs to feel the pressure for his team to start following the laws of the game again. They are breaking the system that is football once more.
