***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool***

That’s literally what they do
I suspect that will be the focus of next week with the clear break in between
Do we?

I see so little evidence of progress, to be honest. We seem unable to do the basics, there is no pattern to our play.

I really do get the injuries - but we knew that's what happens with Ange's teams. It's highly unlikely to change. If we are unable to adapt to this situation (which has been ongoing for a year or so now) then I fear that we are stuck in a perpetual cycle of underwhelming performances and mediocre results with him.

I think he's here for the season, but we absolutely must now be identifying his successor, and getting things into place so that the replacement is in situ as soon as the final whistle blows on this season.

Yes we do
It’s been talked about
Ange and even said that week is needed
And he is here until the end of the season, i agree. Then he goes and we get Areola in

Danso and Spence were decent, everyone else were poor.

One of the most toothless performances I have seen since the last. Caveat, Liverpool are miles ahead of us and were hugely impressive.

Summer surgery for me

Bissouma and Bentancur need to go
Richarlison needs to go.

Deki needs to play central, he is nowhere near the same on the right, put him there and play Moore on the right and Tel central now

So we were spanked by a much better team but I think the most frustrating thing for us supporters is we cannot see any progress under this manager. For a few years I have been feeling that ENIC should cash in and sell up. Levy and co have done an amazing job at the club in terms of the stadium training ground and business and in general have provided funds for each manager. Some of Levys decisions have been questionable like sacking the manager just before a cup final but I actually wish they would sell up to some crazy billionaire who will throw money at the team to at least make us competitive again.
I am done with Ange ball. I`ve said it time and again but do the teams above us have better squads than us? I am pretty certain the likes of Brighton Bournemouth Fulham and Palace would have put up a better performance at Anfield than we did last night. Sure they probably would have lost but not without at least a shot on target. I know we have a lot of injuries but that was abject last night. I also get the reason why we are trying to buy young talent for the future but I wish that for once we would buy established players for certain positions. I know it is not that easy when there are a lot of top teams paying big money for top players. But even though we have great facilities who would choose us over any of the other top 10 teams in europe at the moment?
I will be surprised if Ange is in charge at the start of next season but where do we start with yet another rebuild of the squad? How many players can we get rid of in one go?
I will give one example but the same could apply to many in our current squad. Pedro Porro never made it at City then goes to a mid table side in spain then we eventually sign him after a loan spell for 40 mil. The guy is average at best and a woeful defender, but this applies to half our squad at the moment. We constantly pay over the odds for average players. To me Richarlison is a winger who scores the occasional goal he is not a striker in a million years. We have done this season after season for years. 100 mil on Ndombele and Lo Celso? You couldn`t get 2 more average players and basically it is rinse and repeat season after season under Levy and Enic. Throw in a clueless manager and we are where we are. Can anyone on here see Ange leaving us and going to another top team in europe?
Anyway rant over. The team can go on and win the Europa league now but I will not change my mind about Enic and Ange

I don't mean analyse what went wrong. I know they do that sort of stuff as a matter of course. I'm talking full-on plagiarism of their style, inhalers and all!

I'm being a little facetious here of course but my underlying point is that we have lost our way at the moment. I don't think Angeball, whatever that is, will work in this league ever. It is a flawed system, if it can even be called that. Why not copy the style of the best team around at the moment?

Some people are always going to vent and it's understandable. I haven't seen anyone saying we should have won. But should we have registered a shot on target? Or maybe we should have been in the game at any point?

It was always stacked against us but we could have come away with some credit, I guess Spence and Danso did. But at the minute, it feels quite pointless entering these competitions, we're going to come up against the best teams in England / Europe, if we don't stand a chance because our players are all tuckered out from playing too much football, what is the point? My gut reaction was to switch off as soon as they scored last night, everyone knew what was going to happen. I carried on watching, for the whole game, who knows why. It's a bit like finding out your missus has been cheating on you and making home videos, you already know the result, do you really want to sit and watch your partner get repeatedly fudged?

As for Sunday, we might scrape through to eventually be battered by a better team. It's just prolonging the inevitable. Painstaking pulling the plaster off over a long period of time, that's my analogy for this season. Has it been fun / rewarding to watch it play out?

I didn't write anyone saying we could win but thinking and a few did, perhaps I should have written expecting a performance from the team, they are spent, anyone watching an entire game recently should be able to tell that, particularly in second halves.

I have no confidence players coming back from injury are fit to do so.

Ange talked up being extra careful with vdv and then richy doesd his calf in

Fear
Fear
Fear
Scary how some players just won’t try anything progressive because they are worried about the turnover but instead invite pressure by making weak passes
Coach needs to inspire the players.
A good game plan and tactics is a start.
Do the players have confidence in the coach?

Ange lost his way when he changed the system vs Everton
That cost him and the team now IMO

I think his legs are gone, won't be told otherwise, looks a shadow now.

Until we pay top money for a enforcing 6 like all top teams have we will be having the same conversations till the end of days. If that turns out to be Gray, great, but he needs to play there for that to happen
And as per my earlier post… in the judge thread
Who are these top level 6s now
