***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool***

And as per my earlier post… in the judge thread
Who are these top level 6s now

We should have tried taking Palhinha when that original Bayern deal broke down. Ederson is one of the most complete I have seen recently in that role, yes its 70m to take him but not wanting to pay is not the same as them not being out there. Hjulman is a very good all impact DM. Andrich you would not get now but he is very much the type of player we need and at 30 would be the head you need in the middle with these players.

There are players out there, how ambitious we wanna be to get someone who elevates the team is another argument.

That’s two I’ve never heard of so personally I’d say not top level
Paulinha in those side would be awful imo
He hasnt clicked at Bayern
Ederson I agree fully
Should add if those two unknowns are any good then great. My comment is more that we have fans saying we don’t sign ready made players or known big names but I don’t think there are any in that bracket anymore

He went to Bayern and got crocked in training, I would say at his time Paulinha was the best destructive 6 in the PL for a period I would take him in our side a million days over.

The goals conceded would immediately drop i feel with a Paulinha type. He;d eventually be ruined by the system like most of our players i feel, just might take a bit longer

Anyone believing we were going to to beat Liverpool, need their head examined. At the moment they are just too good, although I genuinely don't know how. They have a couple of outstanding players in Salah and VVD, but other than those, the difference in individual player quality is minimal. But they have experience, and that team has played together for a long time. When our team gets more experienced, there is no reason we cannot get as good as Liverpool.

They're also very well coached and have been for some years so everyone knows their role and what's expected of them. They also have a lot of good players - Szobalski is very underrated imo. Great GK as well.

We desperately need someone like him who sits and holds shape, makes a back two into a back 3 and shadows the FB role when they get too advanced. He would be perfect for us.
But you're describing his attributes in isolation. Doesn't really matter if the manager decides to pay him as a marauding midfielder.

Appears to me the issues are more related to what the players are being asked to do, than with their skillsets and abilities. There is no professional footballer in the league who can't make the passes we're misplacing. The issue is the tactics around the passes. Everything is always frenentic and off balance.

I don't see any evidence that Ange would recruit a midfielder to play that holding role. He hasn't tried to make any of the midfielders we have do it and sold the other two that were most suitable from the squad.

Unfortunately, once you've made your mind on someone, it's almost impossible to change it. For me, what happened in the first half of the Everton game was completely unacceptable - it was beyond a rookie mistake and a level of amateurism I have rarely witnessed at this level. Even if he were to win the Europa League (as unlikely as it seems), I'd still want him gone.

At this stage, if he walked on water, I'd assume that's because he can't swim.

Everything's already been said about last night's game. There's no doubt Liverpool are a much better team but zero shots is a bit far away from Postecoglou's promise of 'entertainment'. And it's not like any of our recent performances have been particularly exhilirating. The fact that everyone - myself included - was so happy after the Brentford game says a lot about our current standards. One thing I would add, though, is that reading this message board, I realised that a lot of people seem to form their opinion partly on the manager's personality - or at least his 'public persona', for lack of a better term.

I never listen to press conferences and although I do comment on the odd quote, I really don't care about Postecoglou's (or Conte's or Mourinho's for that matter) personality. He could be a nice guy, he could eat children for dinner, honestly, it makes no difference to me. For what it's worth, I think his style of management is more suited to international football but I'm worried someone at the club could decide to give him yet another season.

I think you have to have a level of aptitude for the role there though, ability to sniff danger. Bentancur is a disaster with his awareness, he just does not have that in him. Ok part of that might be him being asked to play the wrong role but thats part the point, we need people who can

I didn't write anyone saying we could win but thinking and a few did, perhaps I should have written expecting a performance from the team, they are spent, anyone watching an entire game recently should be able to tell that, particularly in second halves.

Sorry mate I'm not sure I'm following your post here, are you saying its unrealistic / deluded to have hoped that we could've put a performance in? To me it'd be stupid to have expect to have outclassed them, there's a reason why they're top, but to at least have a few moments in the game would be great. Liverpool were able to coast through a semi final whilst our PR teams are clinging on to "We looked quite solid for 30 minutes didn't we" and Son struggles to find the words, again, I mean this kind of disappointment is quite familiar, it should come naturally to him by now.

We didn't look that tired when we were winning against Brentford, I find it a tricky one:

Footballers don't play a lot a football = Who could expect them to play well? They aren't up to speed / match fit!!!

Footballers play a lot of football = What do you expect, they're playing too much!!!

There's ready made excuses in either situation and a seemingly non existent sweet spot always just out of our reach (insert clitoris joke here)

What makes me laugh is when I see people come fat and obese
Spurs fans calling someone fat and obese
I’d love to see the photos of the svelte athletic forms these fans are in then
We’re just in a spiral now of more and more abuse of people
