***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Expensive Stoke***

Forgot about our keeper Vicario? Our new keeper isn't no.1 yet. Bentancur missing too. And like you say no Romero and VDV is quite a spine we are missing! A bit different to just Saka being out. And the ever reliable Davies at CB would be making a huge difference. Then consider those that have been fit enough to play have played way more than they should have these past couple of months. It's ridiculous to try and suggest that injuries are not a factor. Agree our wide forwards are the biggest issue quality wise, but if Odobert hadn't got injured he would be ahead of Son by now.....

You’re right about Bentancur but is he nailed on first team? I’d have him there but I rate him highly, even if I forgot about him. I was just looking at the plausibility of our team and what was significant about those missing.

You could even make the point that if our centre backs were fit then Gray would be our likely number 6 so that improves three positions.

Kinsky has been lauded to be our new number one by many. I say Vicario for now but it’s not a significant drop off having Kinsky instead of Vicario. I’ve been impressed by Kinsky so far even if I think he could have done more to stop the Trossard effort.

For me what was painful is that our tactics are so poor (close to non-existent), particularly in the final third.
We're pretty good at getting runners into channels, but so many hit and hope balls into the box.

I was a supporter of Ange, but there's just no improvement or progress. Injuries elsewhere shouldn't mean Son, Solanke and Johnson have absolutely no link up play or positional awareness (Solanke gets a semi-pass as at least he runs himself into the ground every game).

I think he will become good, but it's been weird reading how people want Vicario sold and so on for a goalie having played two matches. A bit premature to say the least. I think he did allright today.

yeah, second goal was real soft from him though

Personally I've never been critical of the club for sacking managers too soon.

People are saying he should take us in to next season - that will be his third! Who was our last manager to start a third season with us and what had they done in their first two in order to reach that point? Going in to a third season still waiting for some progress to be shown is absolutely fudging crazy
I want to stay behind Ange. I said at start of season that anywhere in top 8 or maybe even top 10, I’d give him a third year. We may do that but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Without that he has to win a trophy and there are a lot of question marks as to whether he can do that.

He’s got to improve significantly from here or there is no justification for another season.

On a side note, I know it’s hard to come out after a defeat but his interview was poor. He was asked some softball questions and he reacts like he’s beyond question. He comes across as a bit of a clam in those situations.

Hard to disagree with that. I did hear some pundit or other say that the last players a manager loses will be the younger ones because they just want to play. Our experienced players were dreadful tonight and I can’t imagine Maddison enjoys the bench, Bissouma likes being hooked at half time or Son likes being subbed. Ange could be walking on very thin ice right now with the squad.

Spence receiving the ball while surrounded by four red shirts on our 16 yard line was totally bonkers. I can't believe we kept doing that the entire game. It caused us so much trouble.

we did it against Saudi Sportswashing Machine a few times too

but we played much smarter in the last 2 games

my question is why the change?

It's way too early to make any judgement on Kinksy, the first couple of months of Vicario and he could do no wrong. I think our CMs are pretty average and inconsistent, but Bentancur almost always plays when fit. How often do you recall seeing him on the bench since he's been here? He's our best CM right now, but Gray and Bergvall are the future....

Hopefully a combination of fatigue, inexperience and playing a very good side who pressed us well. We really need to get back to and keep playing well.

Maddison can f u c K off, he's done little to even justify being on the bench.
Porro and kulu are still trying but are knackered, and kulu is still young.

Our players seem incredibly easy to get the ball off. I don't know if it's a lack of strength, or their body positioning but it happens constantly where we try and hold the ball up and it is nicked off us. With the way we play, that isn't going to work.

Wish we had a Dembele in that midfield.

There definitely was hardly any sign of cohesion.

We are thinking about what to do with the ball, there's no knowing in advance what to do with the ball
