***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Expensive Stoke***

Hopefully a combination of fatigue, inexperience and playing a very good side who pressed us well. We really need to get back to and keep playing well.

You'd think the dippers would be able to as well, but we didn't wait for them to be able to, we played longer, quicker.

Hard to disagree with that. I did hear some pundit or other say that the last players a manager loses will be the younger ones because they just want to play. Our experienced players were dreadful tonight and I can’t imagine Maddison enjoys the bench, Bissouma likes being hooked at half time or Son likes being subbed. Ange could be walking on very thin ice right now with the squad.
Then just play the kids. Son shouldn't be anywhere near the first team anyway and Bissouma and Maddison are too inconsistent.
As soon as Romero or VdV are back shove Gray into midfield alongside Bergvall and Kulu. I don't think Moore is ready but I'd be tempted to say fudge it and just play him as well.

I want to stay behind Ange. I said at start of season that anywhere in top 8 or maybe even top 10, I’d give him a third year. We may do that but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Without that he has to win a trophy and there are a lot of question marks as to whether he can do that.

He’s got to improve significantly from here or there is no justification for another season.

On a side note, I know it’s hard to come out after a defeat but his interview was poor. He was asked some softball questions and he reacts like he’s beyond question. He comes across as a bit of a clam in those situations.
Didn't think the interview was that bad. Last question maybe a bit short, but just sounded disappointed.

Vicario
Spence Romero VDV Udogie
Gray Bergvall
Kulu
Porro Solanke Moore

Good team. The others can battle it out as subs and show us how badly they want it.

Edit: Exception being Bentancur who can rotate with the CM, but those 3 should be first choice.

A lot of kneejerking going on here. We were quite good in the second half?

We lost due to one of the worst corner decisions of all time. Move on.
You thought we were good in the 2nd half? I honestly thought we were worse, lost any control of the ball we had and they kept running straight through us. Their chances in the first half were hard fought, the ones they had in the 2nd were incredibly easy.

We went good second half for sure
They didn’t have many chances all games
It was poor
We look tired and lost
Said it before but it was a game for ballers
Scary how it was the kids again who stepped up

Agree, It was like ping pong. No control whatsoever other than be frantic and hope to get lucky.

I could imagine Maddison being disruptive behind the scenes if he's not getting minutes but apart from his first 3-4 months he's been pretty poor. Obviously has talent but so inconsistent, guess he probably represents our level.

I don't care about staying behind the manager anymore, its a waste of time, they're either the right man or not - if they're not then move on to someone you think is. I'll give Ange some leeway because of the injuries but it's not get out of jail free card with no expiry date.

We were terrible in the first half so maybe it was just the improvement from a very low base.

At least we had some territory in the second half, we just couldn't find the final ball. To their credit the filth defended well.

Arsenal were brick also. I watched the game with my Arsenal supporting neighbour and we both thought it was a game severely lacking in any quality. Same as the first derby tbh but again Arsenal found a way to win or maybe we found a way to lose.

Palace, Utd, Everton, Ipswich & Wolves all have a better record than us in the last 5 league games. We're joint bottom with Southampton over that period. If that doesnt send shivers down your spines, I don't know what will. I don't think we're that bad that we'll ultimately be involved in a relegation dogfight....but it is worrying.

They sat in, they knew bodies behind the ball would nullify us.

Son
Maddison
Romero
In that order move them on as quickly as we can.
Son is finished and Maddison is a highlight reel player and Romero thinks he's too good for us.

All true. But the problem is the PL is ruthless to inconsistent players. You don't need many to have an off day and it's 3 points down the drain.

The successful Man U teams were an example of this; Nicky Butt, Philip Neville, John O'Shea...even Gary Neville to some extent. Could all have been replaced by players better on their day, but gave 100% every match and the manager knew what to expect.

Maddison & Bissouma's inconsistency is a huge problem for us. Not sure what the solution is other than drop them when we have a fit squad and see if they can improve. Shame for them both as they have the talent.
