Whose fault is that?
Run your club better and you’ll have better players too.
Fair post mate. On Johnson yes he needs to improve his wing play. But he actually seems more effective when he drifts into the box a la Dele. Anyway he's still young and perhaps coaching will make him a more effective winger.Didn’t see extra time admittedly or the goals, but just not good enough as a performance really. Thought Gray, Bissouma, Reggie and Moore came out of it with some credit, but the rest of them just tinkle poor. Brennan Johnson once again gets a goal that masks a poor performance and average overall play. It’s possible to be pleased he’s getting goals, but is it really asking for more from him in terms of creativity, effort and the ability to take on his man?
Ultimately just glad we got through and not easy conditions and circumstances to play in, but boy we need better forwards and more creativity.
There were enough starters out there today, you can't use the squad excuse. Today was once again a team bereft of ideas on what to do with possession - is that a squad issue?
Good post, I was replying to an 'Ange in' comment, and funnily enough was going to say I find the whole Ange in/out label a bit cringey but to be fair I think it's an easy way of labelling where you are at. For this game, it was always going to be difficult to some extent on that type of pitch and it being their cup final - we did make a meal of it, but we won so job done. Just move on to the next as far as I'm concerned, we was never going to learn much from this one....I think the clean sheet is a positive no matter who the opposition is.
What was missing today was tempo. The pitch plus lots of niggling fouls by Tamworth to make up for their lack of quality made sure of that.
Timo is very low on confidence and wasn't starting from a high bar anyway, so it's like playing with 10 men when he is playing, especially at the moment.
The pitch looked poor, my 10 year old commented that it looked as bad as his Little League pitch! That is going to slow the game and will be more wearing on tired legs. Main thing is we won and we are through without any new injury concerns.
I must admit that I don't like it when posters are put in Ange in and Ange out camps, it feels very divisive (not having a go at you mate). In the end, We are all Spurs fans and everyone wants us to win, at least that's what I think. I'm not a big fan of Ange but winning is what is important to me.
I think this system masks just how poor our forwards are. They really don’t create much between them. Johnson is a good finisher but does nothing else. I really like Moore, but we can’t expect too much from him at this stage in his career. Werner is Werner. Son isn’t the player he was 3 years ago.
TBF city didn’t play midweek and wee at homeAnyway we should blame Emirates Marketing Project after they beat Salford 8-0 last night everyone thought we just had to turn up to get a similar result

Not starting with a. Striker was a criminally and decisionSo we got it over the line in the end when our quality and fitness came good but for me the performance was 100% down to Ange. That was the first time for their last 10 games that Tamworth kept a clean sheet in 90 minutes. IMO the initial set up was wrong from the start, we just seemed to overload areas and get in each others way with a walking pace going forward. And why start without a centre forward? The players play to the positions and method they are instructed to. And the sooner Werner is sent packing the better, although I suspect we will be seeing more of him until Moore gets properly fit and Oderbert is back
Cheers!Are you in the UK?
If so, you can re-watch it on ITVX https://www.itv.com/watch/fa-cup/10a1856
(Think you have to sit through the ads at the beginning before it lets you fast forward.),.
Cheers!
Tamworth fan.Don't do it to yourself
I should be pleased we are through, but instead I feel flat. We were dreadful in the first 90 minutes and possibly lucky not to have gone out...wait, maybe that is the spark of positivity I need...we didn't get beaten by Tamworth? Gee whiz!
Not really, we won. The 'Ange out' camp keep claiming they don't care about attacking football and want us to be more solid. Well that's two clean sheets in a row, and this could have been a banana skin and we've certainly seen PL clubs concede goals on these sort of grounds. Not sure why anyone who supports the manager needs to justify things after a win.
The funny thing is, had we spanked then those who don't like the manager would have just said 'Yeah well so we should' so it's literally a pointless debate to be had. The fact is some people just aren't happy unless they are whinging.....
I read between the lines, virtually every win is criticised, most can see it doesn't matter who manages the team during this current injury situation. I can't remember a run of games where we started the team or didn't pick up an other injury or suspension. I'm fed up with sacking a manager every 18/24 months and want to see us build something and this season would challenge any manager.
Bissouma played well. Surprised he started as he run himself into the ground midweek but tbh we needed him.Did Sarr-Bissouma-Maddison perform poorly? That used to be our starting midfield at some time last season!!
We can never ever rest Solanke and win a game without him. That's been proven multiple times this season when he's had to come on to dig us out of the brick. Not starting with a. Striker was a criminally and decision
Made it so easy for their defence
Never get that
I’ve seen many managers make daft calls against lesser sides and limp through games and that was a classic again imo
