who'd have thought

possibly related, I know some people have no taste or appreciation for musical talent, but the jam were fudging brick, absolute garbage
After watching The Gold recently i was up for some South London gangster tosh but this is scraping the barrel

Season 3 of The Mandalorian is really tinkling me off.

Seasons 1 and 2 were magnificent.

But...

4 Episodes in and they have just picked some poor reptile, getting on with its own business, as the bad guy, every week.

Make Grogu cute
Then your spoiler…

Recent watches have been:

The Devil's hour on prime - Interesting to see Capaldi play a genuine psychopath rather than just an extremely angry man. Was an excellent watch with it shifting from a murder mystery/ horror / Sci Fi somehow without seeming confused or convoluted. Great casting for the most part and I can't really think of many shows I've seen like it.

Wednesday on Netflix - Thoroughly enjoyable but I'm not a massive Addams family buff. Luiz Guzman and Catherine Zeta Jones were brilliant as the smothering overly affectionate parents. I'm fairly sure it was aimed at more of a teenage-y type audience so the "twists and turns" were obvious from a mile away however it was still nonetheless good fun. Jenna Ortega is no doubt going to be a massive star. Not sure it really sets a good example having someone be super talented and privileged walking around just being a massive clam to everyone but I am nonetheless all for it.

Need something new to watch, I'm not all that in to breaking bad but strangely think just call Saul may be more up my street.

Better call Saul is very good and the new season starts soon.

Yellowstone, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown and Yellow Jackets on Paramount are all very good

Appreciate the suggestions but not sure about having yet another streaming service!

Did the first episode and I just don't know if my brain works with Vince Gillian's writing style, for a "real life program" (as in, not sci Fi / fantasy) there's always something that passes my threshold of suspension of disbelief. Both the main characters in Saul + Breaking Bad are excellent but there's too much that just doesn't play out right for me to be gripped by it.

These are minor incidents from the first episode presumably with no real consequence but I'll put them in a spoiler just in case

Saul is defending 3 kids who fudged a severed head in each other's company whilst filming it but seeming pretty normal aside from that, and the ginger kids doing the skateboard insurance scam who managed to maintain the same speed as the hit and run driver just by hanging on the back of other cars after the incident. Just not plausible. It could be said that this is overthinking it but it just seems like reasonable analysis to me!

And I find the pre exposition shots a little tedious, "oh look there's a bin in the foreground of the shot whilst he's getting in the lift, I bet that'll come up later". The character ends up kicking the bin on the way down "Oh wow, such an emotional payoff, I really felt like I knew that bin, having seen it before" - Meh.

Ended up going for "Dark", German time bending drama which was recommended a while back and I chewed through three episodes yesterday, enjoying it thoroughly. Hope it's nothing like Lost where there was so much intrigue / mystery but never any proper answers.
