Official - Defoe

Re: Jermain Defoe

Like the two he should have scored on SUnday?!? They really could have come back to bite us given the lead was only 1-0.

No way near clinical enough and misses far too many. Would be good to upgrade

We have three strikers and he is not the least consistent of the 3. If we are to replace a striker on last season it should be Ade

Re: Jermain Defoe

Not against keeping him as he's been a decent servant and is a useful squad option but equally understand if we/he want out and he goes.

Re: Jermain Defoe

Only two questions

- Do we have a replacement?
- Can we get a decent price

JD is a decent backup, if nothing else he puts in the effort (Ade may potentially better, but only when he gives a ****, which isn't very often).

So that's 135 goals in his last 341 appearances for us. Now that's what I call consistent. 8-[

Is that in jest?

341 no doubt counts sub appearances - which Defoe has had a fair few of. I like Defoe and whilst not first choice - he can come on and do a job.

Re: Jermain Defoe

As a back up CF I would prefer someone consistent rather than someone streaky. Would therefore take Hernandez over JD all day long

Re: Jermain Defoe

Defoe frustrates me so much as a player, whether it's his over estimation of his own ability which leads to him shooting from an impossible angle rather than play the simple pass, the dropping deep when he's not had the ball for 5 minutes which leads to the congestion of our midfield and causes our formation to become completely ineffectual, or the way he takes so long to decide what he's going to do - completely telegraphing every shot to the point that the keeper can easily save all but the best of them.

But I still don't want him to leave against all common sense as I really want him to do well for us. Still.

Re: Jermain Defoe

defoe should just think of himself as a super-sub and focus on that from now.
would be appreciated to do a job for england in that role too
