Morgan Gibbs-White

Yes. Which is why he said he adapted his game. He had gotten the golden boot with us as an out and out striker.
As i said, it's up to the player. Adapt their game to play for england or don't play. Don't be miserable about it. Playing for england should be the ultimate dream. You do what you have to and throw yourself 100% at it to make it work.

Who said ANYTHING about Dele being 'miserable' about it? I didn't. YOU'VE injected that into this. He did EVERYTHING that was asked of him in an England shirt. Stop twisting things FFS, it's tedious.

...in YOUR opinion.

Teddy was always a 10 in the making, that much was clear from the moment he signed for us.

It's my opinion and i'll stick with it. If you want to play for your country (or even your club) you give 100%. Do whats required. For the best of the team. If not don't play.

If you think it's right for players to sulk that's YOUR opinion.

Great. In principle would anyone disagree? No. That's essentially football 101.

What I fail to understand is how that relates to Dele Alli, who never ONCE complained.
When did he EVER sulk?
He didn't.

I think a daily orange can help see off the common cold. It's my opinion and I'll stick with it. Doesn't relate to Dele Alli either...

Joy was blunted? Your words.
Miserable mine.

MY words MY observation. Did YOU ever hear HIM say those words? No.

And the key word is 'observation'...turning him into a player who could play 'systems' blunted his natural flair and unteachable edge. He was still (in my opinion) a great player AND it took some of that instintual genius away from him and (again in my opinion - the 'o' word again) blunted some of the joy his game carried.

You mentioned joy. Saying it was blunted.

I'm replying to your words not anything i noticed. It's your observation. Not mine.

I know it’s all nonsense but that first one is just such special nonsense. ‘They qualified through Europa so the trigger is void’…..why even bother writing out such completely ridiculous rubbish?
To be fair there may be an element of truth in what hes spaffing. I've seen quite a few Nottingham Forest focused articles report that one of the things that has apparently really boiled the Forest owner's p*ss is that MGW had apparently given a verbal (although non-contractual) commitment to only leave Forest for a club that qualified for the Champions League. Once the early contact with City ended in them going elsewhere, appears Forest hierarchy began planning for MGW to stick around only for his people to request a transfer to us. I do think the fact we finished 17th and only got CL due to Europa IS a thing that is causing friction between MGW/CCA and Forest.

Yeah I can see that
There are a lot of fans and I assume clubs that believe they are now above us

That's on the player. Sheringham changed his game because he wanted to play for england with shearer. Became one of the best 10s in the game.
Sheringham switched between a 9 and 10 his whole career, depending who is partner was. He was a 9 ahead of Durie and Barmby, but a 10 behind Cascarino, Klinsmann and Armstrong

Not sure its about forest thinking they're above us, but i can see the point that if you've been told "I'll only request a transfer to a club that qualifies for the CL" and you've kind of thought that stops at Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Saudi Sportswashing Machine....and City are the only ones that make contact and then go away, you're probably within your rights to an extent to start planning based on keeping him and I can see the point where he then comes with our offer and says he wants to go where youd be within your rights to have a bit of a hissy fit about it and say "but they only got CL due to a technicality - they finished 17th FFS". I think we probably just need to let thise discussions play out. Feel like this is going to either end in him joining us with their reluctant ok, or him being convinced to sign a new deal at Forest with a view to a move to a "proper" CL club next summer.....

But…we qualified for the Champions League? Unless the language in his contract specifically states ‘this clause only counts if a club qualified through the league’ (in which case we wouldn’t have a leg to stand on) then how can this possibly be causing friction?

As per my post I can see why the Forest owner's p*ss has been boiled over this.

Cans see how they are annoyed a team got CL for winning the Europa League while they complained to get in through the back door of the Europa league.

I think other clubs and their players look at us and see a EL team that bounces from one drama to the next with solid foundations in place. They don't see us as a stable top side that will always be competing for a CL berth and other trophies. I reckon that would be a logical argument I would have with my player if they said they were interested in moving to Spurs. I'd tell them to wait for one of the "better" and "bigger" clubs to come along. I'm not sure I'd be that interested in dealing with Spurs either when I could be dealing with Pool or City. I could be wrong on that but it is a perception you always get when Spurs go into any transfer opportunity.

It's obviously only Spurs that can change this perception in the same way we have with the U21 players choosing us nowadays. It's not really true in the way I see it now. There is a lot that can go right for us moving forward under Frank.

Redknapp's bonus clause famously had that distinction didn't it - it was top 4, not CL. So he still got it, even though Chelsea booted us out

Do you have a lot of time on your hands?

Of course players are going to look to move to bigger clubs, but Liverpool and City aren't going to buy every player. Outside, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, possibly Chelsea and Utd, we would be the next club players would choose amongst English clubs. We will be next on wages and normally at the very least Europa League and pushing for CL.

If we take out last season our average position over the previous 10 years was 4.7. Five of those seasons we qualified for the CL. Another two of those seasons we finished 5th which would now be enough to qualify for CL. So your statement that we aren't a stable top side that will compete for a CL berth is a load of crap.
