Morgan Gibbs-White

I dont see him as a box to box player. He played as an AM (either an 8 or 10) for Wolves, Forest and for England. He is a hard worker, but definitely more a Scholes than a Gerrard as it were.

He's Dele Alli more than any of those for me. Better in a 10, but can also play 8. Can equally play alongside a Maddison (Eriksen) or instead of one.

We're not in for him to play the Maddison role, at least not predominantly. We want him as a tireless box to box midfielder, and we need that. I think a player like him is pretty crucial for how we'd like to set up, and I think he's the best one out there we can get.
It will be a big blow if we can't get this one over the line.

Although 60m is serious money. There are a lot of players in Italy etc so we're not beholden to this one player of course.

TIme will tell. Dele was not a good 10. A solid 8 yes but 10, nah. I haven't watched enough of MGW to see if he has the ability.
Dele was a sublime 10, his goal scoring was better than Lampard, Gerrard and (I think Scholes) at the same age. He went off the rails when Son came through and he had to play deeper. Loved it when Poch played three at the back with Dele and Eriksen behind Kane.

No, but I can't think of any with his attributes and quality. In addition he's association trained.

No doubt true. Here are some others that aren’t association trained that we could get:

Khephren Thuram

Frank Anguissa

Piotr Zielińsk

Ederson - Atalanta

Nicolò Barella

I thought it was best when Son, Alli and Eriksen played as a trio behind Kane (the classic DESK line-up). Son held the left, Alli got close up behind Kane almost as a second striker, whilst Eriksen provided the main creative thrust from narrow right. We could almost have that same balance again with Tel, MGW and Kudus.

have to say I thought it was pretty bland...to the point that I missed the point of correction you made via his book earlier!!!!!!

It's a case that none of us really know, just like what's in the contract. All you can do is use your own judgment based on using your own life experiences. Interestingly, there was the Aulus situation in the Hugo book. There was also the well publicised CL watches in another chapter. In another even later chapter Hugo told the story about Levy asking Hugo to have an on-pitch farewell at the last game of the season. Hugo was shocked, as he still had a year left on his contract and therefore his chairman received some strong feedback from his club captain. From memory, Levy did the silent treatment thereafter and most of us found it out of order the way our club legend left the club.

So this is me reading between the fuzzy lines of words written in a book.

I guess we'll never know whether Levy is an evil master manipulator or whether his mind is akin to someone whose place on life's spectrum makes him way more logical than lateral in his comms. I'm sure we've all met loads of people that if you didn't understand their "ism" you'd just constantly clash with them. Again, this is me, but I read that into the words that Hugo used in his book about Levy. Doesn't mean Levy can't be hugely effective and have best intentions. I think that was also Hugo's point.

I see that today's press narrative is that Marinakis is now following the Charlie Kane chestnut of MGW "going back on his word". If that is true, that's a massively positive sign for me as when Charlie did it to Daniel, I knew our chairman was in a really strong position. It turned out to be the last thing that Charlie had in his armory i.e. an empty shell. Kane was never going to City for that paltry amount.

MGW IS coming to Spurs. It's all tap dancing from this point. LOL - Levy will take care of business.
