AVB's side in the 2012/13 season did really well in the final quarter of the season and AVB does deserve credit for that. But we won many points because of Gareth Bale creating and scoring goals out of nothing. This takes the pressure off the rest of the team in terms of creating goal scoring opportunities which in turn means they can conserve energy. Nothing wrong with that system but it needed a special player to keep it going. Once that player goes it becomes harder to execute. Poch's system is much less reliant on a "special" player and much more team based. It could lead to players being more tired by the last quarter of the season, we will have to see. But in the absence of a Bale type player I think it is a better fit for Spurs.I see that some are still holding a candle for AVB. They must be mad, bad or sad. I for one am quite happy to make the pronouncement now that Poch is a better manager than AVB. AVB was the most boring manager we have ever had - He played mind numbing football and used a reckless high line to which we were entirely unsuited. This resulted in many fans considering whether the still wanted to watch his brand of football and also resulted in some humiliating defeats. He wasted some supreme talents under his watch ( Adebayor, VDV to name but two) and only wanted to buy extremely expensive footballers and pay them loads of dosh.
I have no hesitation in saying I prefer the Poch brand of football - the high energy, forward looking, attractive style with young and many home grown players. It's a no brainier for me.
Pooch deserves massive credit for starting carroll today?!?! I'm not just saying it with hindsight, only just seeing it, but Poch starting Carroll was the most fudgeing idiotic decision he's made since his string of idiotic decisions last season. It brought back all the feelings of last season of being angered by Poch. Carroll is a terrible player (he makes me wish Mason was fit, that's how bad i think he is). As soon as I saw he started I said we could struggle today, and we did, for EXACTLY the reasons that payed out (hate being right!). That with Carroll we couldn't assert ourselves, he's so staggering weak, so positional poor, so sloppy; that his inclusion would make the show team lack cohesion, and slowly give confidence to Saudi Sportswashing Machine. EXACTLY what happened.
fudgeing credit! It was the single decision we lost today, we were awful and disjointed and even though he came off the damage was done - sloppiness had spread and Saudi Sportswashing Machine knew it was possible!!!
While I'm at it, why the fudge does he keep playing Rose ahead of Davies, who looked great earlier int he season. Rose is consistently our weakest player!!
@SpursOfficial
Mauricio: "We need to assess the game and understand what happened. We lost easy balls and gave them chances."
"Our first half was fantastic but it's difficult to know why the second half was different."
"We always need to learn and work hard. In football sometimes it's difficult to explain."

At least he admits we were utterly, comprehensively sh*te. Although he doesn't know why we were sh*te, and to be fair, I don't think I do either. The only possible explanations are a terrible mentality and the curse of Spursiness coming back to haunt a side who till now were considered distinctly un-sexy.

Poch fudges up rotation in two Europa games we didn't need to win.
A loss against Qarabag and a draw against Monaco would have sent us through in second on 8 points above Monaco and Qarabag on 7. We look knackered in the last few games.
But Grimsby puts the entire blame on another youth academy midfielder that likes to try things.
We were 1-0 up when he came off.
No mention of Dier looking fudgeed?
No mention of Vertonghen, Alderweireld and Lloris unable to deal with any set piece crosses all season. Do we work on that?
If Poch wants to play this style of play in the premier league he needs to learn how to rotate his players.
Hopefully we will get that in time. Hopefully he'll still be here in 3 seasons time and we will be successful.
But in the meantime there is nothing wrong with some positive criticism.
He's doing an awful of thing rights even though our results are pretty poor.
And they are.
We're 26 points from 16 league games.
AVB was sacked after 16 league games with 27 points in 2013/14.
I don't think he should say in public what he thinks went wrong, even if he does know at this stage.
With regards to "a terrible mentality and the curse of Spursiness", we have not seen much of either this season and one bad game does not change that. If we were offered where we are now at the beginning of the season, most of us would have taken it.
Depends on your perspective. I saw it against West Brom, and against Anderlecht away: the same initial profligacy, succeeded by a growing struggle to hang on against a side which outran and outpassed us with ease. I've seen it before, and, after a welcome end to that phenomenon last season (famous as it was for our late goals), I'm seeing it again now.
I think the 'hanging on' bit today was partly because in the second half we were pretty clueless going forwards. I don't think any of Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Dier or Carroll were at all good today, and Lamela was only decent for the first half. And if you don't impose yourself on the opposition then there is a risk that they'll come back at you. Today it seemed that when we were 1-0, we were aiming to win solely on the basis that Saudi Sportswashing Machine at brick rather than by us going and beating them
Really disappointing so hoping that its really hurting the players

So would you be if you came from GrimsbyYour opinions and bias are often disgraceful. Calm down Rose had a good game today so why the hell are you picking this up. You come across a very angry man
There isn't a team in the world that plays well in all of its games. It that is where we are setting the bar then we will always end up being disappointed.
