Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

I think what is interesting with yesterday and some of the European games is the evolution of Poch's rotation.

Fairly obvious Poch gets a core group of players he trusts (that was his work last season), what is happening is we are getting to that second/rotation group that is being added to the trusted.
- Original trusted group - Lloris, Walker, Jan, Toby, Rose, Dier, Dembele, Alli, Lamela, Eriksen, Kane
- expanded group - Vorm (must have been very tempting to go for Lloris yesterday), Davies, Trippier, Carroll, Son, Mason, Bentaleb (not completely sure what Poch's current view on Bentaleb is)

That really eases the pressure on the squad, gives us the opportunity to maybe see some rotation in PL games as well (or regular subs).

Have to say, Poch surprises me, his plan/strategy does seem to evolve (not sure I can remember a recent manager who changed anything 18 months in)

We could quite easily see only 3 players that started the FA-cup replay against Leicester start against Palace tomorrow. Dier, Eriksen and Lamela/Son.

Considering we had Mason, Pritchard and Clinton out with injuries that's fairly impressive considering the performance we put in.

Poch said before the game that it was time for Bentaleb to start playing again after his injury. I wonder if there's been a slow return partly on purpose or something like that...

I also noticed in the Leicester game that Poch was having a serious tactical discussion (guessing) with Bentaleb on the sidelines as the others celebrated the goals. The rumoured fallout seems to be just that, a rumour.

BBC showed them having a couple of long chats, not surprisingly really considering it was his first proper run out in that postion for a while.

Noticed that Pochettino has started to celebrate our goals more this season like AVB used to do. Used to really enjoy watching AVB celebrate our goals. Hope Pochettino will continue to do so. I think it motivates the players and fans more when the manager shows more emotion and joins the celebrations whenever we score goals.

I came across this ditty Friday evening, you may have seen it before:

Supercalifragilistic we've got Pochettino
Not as good as Billy Nic but better than Mourinho
Likes a shot of vodka in his morning cappuccino
Supercalifragilistic we've got Pochettino
That's the old pav chant isn't it.
pavlechenko, Shevchenko, Kenko

still a long way to go and we are not yet in the business end of things just yet.

But its hard not to feel optimistic with all the young talent at our disposal, the attitude of the players, and a nice little cushion from 5th place...

Still there is much to be done...any prolonged break up of the Verts-Alder axis would be a bitter blow...Dier I feel needs to stay now in the DM role, I feel this is vital, I would rather see wimmer come in than Dier revert back to CB...though I do want to see more of Bentaleb and Mason again so its tough.

Still I feel we are still light in a certain position...injuries to key players would be a blow to any team and I would feel more relaxed if we had a back up for Kane in his mould.

Of course I am a worrier and expect things to turn sour...I am a spurs fan...I am as pleased as any of you but the old cliche one game at a time...At present I have no complaints with Poch and he is currently exceeding my expectations, I think he has managed us and rotated the team brilliantly, and I love how our players seem to love playing for him...they look happy and determined and driven to win....this can only be from Poch and his staff...and I am pleased as punch with that...

Come on you Spurs...I know I shouldn't but I cant help hoping for the title...typical contradictory spurs fan...damn poch and the boys for getting me to believe we can achieve glory!

I feel much the same as in Nigey's above post. I would also like to add, that there's no reason to get mardy about any of the players efforts, or the manager's tactics and team selections.

Eriksen, Carroll and Lamela seem to be getting the lions share of some unwarranted stick on Spurs forums. As far as I'm concerned, all the squad are doing fantastically well, giving it their all for the shirt. Dips in form will happen but we can't point fingers for lack of effort so might I suggest some of us cut some slack to these young players?

We just don't know how far this young squad can go this season and it could all blow up in our faces during a bad run of results. But the togetherness and the already proven bounceback ability of this group of players under the guidance of the management team, has me believing they will be there or thereabouts at the season's finish.

We're fast approaching the business end of the season, and if we're still in with a chance with a few games remaining , well then anything is possible.

Enjoy the ride my fellow Tottenham buddies...

COYS!!!

Seeing pictures like this make me proud of the team spirit and attitude that MP seems to be infusing into the club. It is a great asset.

Mauricio 'I only get excited in bed' Pochettino, celebrating goals? I think you might be hoping for a bit much, mate. :)

But yeah, I also loved watching AVB celebrate like mad whenever we scored: Harry was getting on a bit and generally restrained himself to the odd fistpump or leap from his seat, and Juande wasn't particularly expressive, but AVB went utterly nuts on the touchline in an honest, utterly unrestrained way. And it was one of the things about the guy that I found most endearing.

One day, history will be kinder to that man than we are now. But yeah, back to Poch: I think awkwardly running over and paying Alli on th e head is the most you're going to see from the guy. I don't mind that at all, though. :)
