Great minds (and all that)Perceptive. This guy argues the same with some nice diagrams and images.
Essentially Spam had a back 4 and Rodriguez as DM in front... but then they also dropped Soucek and Paqueta deep alongside Rodriguez, in a 4-3 formation.
Then when Bowen and Kudus tracked our full backs it was a deep 4-5--------1 with Antonio on his own.
By removing Maddison for Sarr, it meant Soucek had no-one to mark so he pushed up higher, leaving space for Udogie to exploit for the second goal.
But it was the clear change and I’ll be honest… not own I thought about and not for half time too
Ange planned that before the end of the first half
Smart guy our manager
