I'm going to update the long list and post it later. I suggest that we put our names against the ones we think should go through and limit ourselves to six or seven votes each. That way we can get our initial 32 and kick this off proper next week. What do people think?

Maybe we should have qualifying heats?

Maybe albums from same or similar genres.

Original Pirate Material- The Streets
Demon Days - Gorillaz
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

Let's see how we get on with a sift by votes. I think we should leave a little wriggle room for wild card entries for diversity/interest and a possible cap if one genre is over present.

We're a bit short of pop albums. Are there any that people consider to be classics?

I think we've had this discussion before Steff, but I still prefer "Bleach".

We have mate ;)

Bleach is a fine album, indeed, I saw them on that tour, but I still think "Nevermind" is one of the top 20 albums of all-time. You know my history with regards to this subject Sir, what I will say is that Cobain would've agreed with both you and the "In Utero" lovers (he was beside himself to work with Albini)…we discussed it a few times…still one of the greatest losses of my generation IMO...

Some good choices there Thingy. I haven't listened to any of them in ages. I like Open Up but always thought that it jarred a bit against the rest of Leftism. I want to listen to Original now :D

WHAT a duo!

I'd absolutely back either "Leftism" or "Rhythm & Stealth" which has some amazing stuff…Rhino's Prayer is just brilliant, and the video they did with Cunningham for '…Afrika Shox' is one of the best I've ever seen…

While we're here, there's an argument for Bjork's 'Post' and Tricky's 'Maxinquaye' deserves a shout for sure…LOVE Tricky, top TOP man too...

Impossible to say just one. So here's a few 10/10 albums.

Some records I enjoy immensely from start to finish.

Great list…'Funhouse' is a GREAT shout, nice one, what a roaring record it is! Got to say of all the Scream releases, 'Vanishing Point' is my personal favorite…and to whoever put AIR 'Monn Safari', nice shout…my daughter was born as that first track was playing in the hospital room...

Not necessarily pop but something other than rock.

The Avalanches - Since I left you
Leftfield - Rhythm and stealth
Chemical brothers - Surrender
Massive Attack - Massive Attack or Protection
Royksopp - Melody A.M.
The Verve - Urban Hymns

Good call on the Fugazi Daisuk.

I was just talking to my wife about this thread and her vote is Check Your Head - The Beastie Boys. Her reasoning that it has everything The Beasties have to offer; hip hop, jazz, garage punk and humour.
