GG's favourite album of all time

Arctic monkeys - whatever people say I am that's what I'm not.

I think we can save us all a chunk of time with a 1998 cut off. Music pretty much died around then so there's little point taking it further.

As for the winner, I'm sure it's been mentioned but Exile on Main Street for me.

Surely if we can only pick one Pavement album then it has to be Slanted and Enchanted?

I was torn between CRCR and WZ. I've never really loved S&E tbh. Some good tracks but I prefer the other two as a whole package.

This is why 'group' lists are so hard I guess. ;)

The Who - Who's Next
The Clash - London Calling
Rush - 2112
Rush - Moving Pictures
ATCQ - People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm
Television - Marquee Moon
Kraftwerk - The Man Machine
Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Captain Beyond - S/T
Pink Floyd - Animals
Deep Purple - Made In Japan
Marillion - Childhood's End
Sleep - Dopesmoker
Clutch - S/T
Kyuss - Sky Valley
Roky Erickson - The Evil One
Melvins - Houdini
Black Flag - Damaged
Yes - Close To The Edge
Primus - Sailing The Seas Of Cheese
Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain

Low End Theory absolutely ****s on their debut imo.

Does that count as two votes for Low End Theory if its the same person mentioning it in more than one post? :-k

Right, we've got two Foo Fighters nominations and one Nirvana. Only one album can get through from all of those, so what is it to be? Or do we have any calls for Bleach or In Utero?

If we''re including a Nirvana album then my vote goes to In Utero.

Actually, I think I'm changing it to Midnight Marauders, but all three of them are the bees knees. Doesn't really matter, I just put the debut there because it was what I heard first, and those albums always have a special place in my head. Wouldn't really pick any of them if I had to choose ONE album anyway.

Except for that, you're cool with the list? \o/

I'm surprised you've gone for Roky solo. The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators and Easter Everywhere are stone cold classics.

You've both hit the tickle my balls with a feather.

Because I got into Pavement after seeing them at Reading 95 which was touring Wowee Zowee and the first TCQ album I heard (and delved into so deeply for a long long time) was Low End Theory.

Those albums that initially draw you in are special.

We're up to ninety odd albums already, this is going to take some whittling to get down to a starting thirty two
