Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

I'd accept nothing less than £400 million (new stadium) + C.Ronaldo and Higuain in exchange for Bale.

Re: Gareth Bale

What kind of deal did we make with RM when they got Modric??? It dont hit me as a good deal for us... Cant see the two clubs work together.

Why dont Levy bite theyre heads off with the talk from RM??
quotes like:
‘If we can bring him here, it would be very good."
‘We are on it. The president is excited to bring him [Bale] to Madrid.’

is talking players up...
Someone should take action...

The deal primarily involved coaching and commercial stuff I believe.

Levy will go about his business fairly quietly as he always does. Even when he bent Chelsea over a chair and slapped them after they tapped up Arnesen he wasn't making grand public statements early on.

If there are grounds for actions to be taken I think Levy will take action. If he does so I imagine he will be well on his way taking those actions before we get a trustworthy source telling us that he is.

Re: Gareth Bale

what im struggling with is that if Cavani is being touted at 50m then how the hell is higuain worth half of that????????? are you telling me that higuain is half the player Cavani is???????? Bale is not worth 85m bit if that's how they want to value him then fair enough.......

either way im just wondering if threatening to sell our main rivals a blockbuster striker is being used as leverage to try and get a deal done for Bale.. what was it fergie said....he wouldn't sell them a virus.......starting to see his way of thinking...

Valuation isn't decided only based on the player's abilities.

Real want to get rid of Higuain, probably to raise funds to sign other players. The player is happy about leaving. That drives the price down.

Napoli on the other hand are desperate to not lose Cavani, or at least to get as much money for him as possible. Cavani has said that he wants a move, but so far at least he hasn't indicated that he will be a dingdonghead about it. That drives the price up.

Re: Gareth Bale

I know we're being 'professional' about this, but I'd be lying if I didn't say there was a side of me which wanted Levy to step out and give those arrogant tacos in Madrid a right public c unting!

I agree.....but the longer we stay silent and the more they keep making noises.............doesn't paint them in a good light does it???????? not that they will care if they get Bale. which they wont as you will say...lol

We didn't stay silent regarding Chelsea's Modric pursuit, making it clear we would not sell him to them and that got nasty with the player. Levy and the board will no doubt know of Bale's wish to eventually go to Madrid so maybe , if we were to slag, the Madrid slags off, then Bale could get grumpy and push for a summer move?

Re: Gareth Bale

:-k IF that is what they are offering now,

Imagine what they'll be offering at the end of the window when they're REALLY desperate!?

We can't be waiting till the end of the window , we could be two points from nine by then having lost to the Goons.

We need to sort this Bale business out soon, its down to Gareth ... They're offering us a good deal if those players mentioned are part of a deal. If Gareth wants to go, then we shouldn't drag our feet for a million or two more and instead get a deal done early.

I didn't say we should accept it whatever the offer.

I was just thinking IF this is true and it's their first proper bid then it would be interesting how far they would go before Danny boy tells them to jog on. \o/

What is there to sort out?

If Bale is happy to stay at Spurs for at least another season, and Levy and AVB know this, then it does not matter what Real Madrid, Marca, SkySports, the Daily Mirror or 300 page of Spurs fans think.

Boring...... It's not going to sell any papers talking like that. Plus the best thing in football nowdays isn't winning trophies it's all about the big money move.

mate,

as discussed earlier, this was very much because Modric's agent was driving that deal hard and publicly via the media, so Levy was forced to make a statement. Barnet and Bale are on the same page as the club, so no need to say anything...even though, as I mentioned earlier, I'd love to see it.

Personally, I think what will happen is that when we secure a signing or two, you will a statement encompassing ALL of it...including Bale staying...

Well I happen to believe in showing respect to the customer , in this case, the clubs followers . The contempt shown in football to the paying customer is staggering.

Also , the manager should not have to continuously face the same question time and time again . The hacks will be all over this once training starts next week . They will be hassling other squad players to get info. Believe me, we've not seen anything yet.

Real Madrid's conduct in this has been nothing short of disgraceful just as Chelsea's was in their pursuit of Modric . We spoke out on that one , did you disagree with that ? We are a big club and we're being pushed around by a club, that I'm of the understanding we have a deal with. A deal that should be of mutual benefit , like imploring the star player of the other team to hand in a transfer request and to join them, I don't think so. If as you say, Bale is happy to stay at Spurs for at least another season and Levy will not sell, then what's the problem in publicly stating the fact and whilst doing so , telling Real Madrid to STFU?

There seems to be a belief with some people, that by declaring the fact Bale is staying it would have some sort of adverse affect on our pre season preparations.

Little Tottenham Hotspur Football Club you stay quiet, know your place.

Yes I understand that the agent's actions are different but everything Chelsea did in their pursuit of Modric, Real Mardid have also done . In fact I'd say they've been worse as their president has got in on the act too , at least Abramovich stayed out of it.

I'm going on the premise Bale wants to stay. If that is so , I just cant figure out a negative for coming out with it next week when the players are back at the training ground.

And therein lies the rub.

Daniel has already told AVB Bale is staying this summer and on the last day of the season there was a message on our website from Daniel which said we would not be selling any of our key players. There is nothing else to say, if they cannot take no for an answer then that is their problem. Sure Bale may leave next season but this summer we are not for turning.

With 3 years left on his contract I am positive Madrid are wasting their time. They can say what they want but mark my words Bale is staying, and I have money on it
