Publicly? Never.
When did Levy say he wasn't going to sell Bale?

BREAKING: Real Madrid have submitted a cash + Di Maria offer for Tottenham's Gareth Bale, according to Cadena Ser
I think cash + Ronaldo is the only option acceptable to us.
The paranoia on this forum RE: AVB and Bale has been hilarious today.
We are clearly not selling Bale this summer. Levy and AVB are on the same page. There is no need for one to put pressure on the other. AVB wants to work with Bale, and thinks he will have a better chance of success with Bale here. Levy wants to keep Bale, and has proved with Modric he won't sell just because the media try and engineer a move or even if the player kicks up a massive fuss. Why does anyone think Levy is going to have suddenly changed from the Modric episode? Of course he hasn't.
Levy also made a statement in the programme saying no key players would be sold this summer, before the end of the season. AVB doesn't have an ulterior agenda here. He doesn't need to shift anything. Bale just isn't going this summer. It's that simple.

I think Bale his handling the situation very well.
I think he knows, like we do, that if a bid is accepted from Spurs he will move. Him coming out with some categorical statement could make him look like a real tit if Real comes in with a bid even Levy thinks is too good to turn down (whatever that is).
Bale seems honest and straightforward with the fans, that's all I ask really. I can take players leaving, but I fudging despise the fake badge kissing, PR-advisory-loyalty, empty promises attitude that so many players at so many clubs seem to display. Most of them would leave as quickly as "I don't give a brick" Ekotto if offered the right money from the right club and many of them already have.

Bale will sign a new contract with us soon which will put an end to all the baloney. I feel it in my water.
So saying that Levy doesn't want to sell also falls into the opinion category then?
