Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Harry was a grade A taco for that.

First he said we shouldn't sell Luka no matter how big the offer is but as soon as Levy declares he isn't for sale, Redknapp comes out with that flimflam. He was playing a very dirty game.

Or it could have been a well managed good cop, bad cop. While I don't think it was planned - it's more 'Arry looking after number one - it did work out well and we got a good season from a player who was able to work with the manager.

Re: Gareth Bale

To make sure Levy will not sell him...an insurance policy if you will.

Absolutely this. Seems to me that if you're a Spurs Manager you have to make sure you get this into the press as soon as possible to cover your own arse. Levy calls the shots at the club and players come and go down to him, not the Manager. Not the first time that AVB has used the press to put or keep pressure on Levy, and he isn't the first Spurs Manager to do it either.

I expect as Levy continues to frustrate him in the transfer market we'll see more and more comments from AVB of this nature. So far we've had Spurs must spend big, Spurs must sort out their transfer dealings early and the Chairman has given assurances that Bale isn't going anywhere. All not so subtle hints to Levy as to what is needed. Will Levy listen? What with AVB's agent spreading the PSG rumours (very similar to what Jol did with Saudi Sportswashing Machine and that cost Jol his job long term, Levy never forgave him for that) it's a worrying sign that this relationship will go there same way as the others. Cross Levy at your peril AVB. At least now there is Baldini to act as the buffer, and from other recent AVB quotes regarding that topic that must be heaven for AVB.

Nothing new there then from him, or any other Manager. AVB has been doing the same thing, ensuring that his plan for success is highlighted in the media so that if he doesn't get all the components in place that he needs it's not his fault. I'd say that's a sign of a savvy intelligent bloke myself.

Re: Gareth Bale

Levy frustrates all our Managers in the transfer market. This season we may just get away with it because our first two games are comfortable and the Arsenal away game is a bonus point even with a potentially strongest team.

I am fully expecting us not to have our best team in place by the opening game of the season.

Re: Gareth Bale

id imagine most managers outside of the super rich who can buy who they want are frustrated every window as they have to work within the restraints that come with each particular club.

haven't seen any of this 'not too subtle' pressure from AVB towards Levy though, some links to articles would be interesting to see

Examples please?

And yes...evil Levy gives AVB support shocker!

Other examples of people on there drawing conclusions based on speculations of the intentions of someone that said something to the press in an unknown context?

I'm sure there are plenty of examples...

Do you make stuff up as you go along? or do you really believe everything you say.:ross:

Re: Gareth Bale

As for Perez, I wonder if the tube ticket that Gross was waving about a few years ago can be found down the side of the managers chair. Levy should then point him in the direction of Seven Sisters and tell him to get the 'Vic' line back into London.

Re: Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale is convinced Real Madrid will be making a move to try and sign him at some stage this summer and although he is not losing his patience he is currently awaiting further instructions.

The player is not going to adopt any measure to pressure his current club Tottenham to sell him; rather he is hopeful the meeting between Daniel Levy and Florentino Pérez will be resolved with an agreement over his transfer, despite the fact that Tottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas is not happy at losing his star player.

There still remain 69 days before the closing of the transfer window and Real Madrid has already resolved many of the operations it had planned. Meanwhile, the Welsh player is up to speed with what is happening at Real Madrid and knows that his transfer will be one of the more complicated.

Bale is attracted by the project being put together at Real. At some stage during the summer the Chairman at Tottenham will meet with the player to discuss his future and it is known that the two enjoy a great relationship. That will be the moment when Bale will state his intention of signing for Real Madrid if there is any possibility at all of that happening. Without making any demands he will simply use the sporting arguments that such a move will mean to him.

Once Agent Bale has completed his work in North London he will arrive at Madrid Airport at 2pm, once he arrives he will go to bed. After waking up he will share his methods with Neymar and then do an upper decker in Sandro Rosell's toilet...for sporting reasons.

They make the Daily Star look like Newspaper of the year.

Re: Gareth Bale

Wow. This time I really am lost for words.

That's like a school essay by a young Real fan, titled "My dream summer".

Re: Gareth Bale

Genuine question.

Do people in Spain actually believe this brick?

Surely even the most ardent Madrid fans will look at that and think "You guys are making this up now aren't you"

Re: Gareth Bale

Another Bale is staying sound-bite from the manager.....

Villas-Boas has been keen to stress that chairman Daniel Levy has given him assurances that Bale will not be sold - and he said in an interview in his native Portugal that he has no reason to doubt that is the case.

"The chairman said that we are not open to offers, whatever they are, and that the player will stay," he told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

"In football anything can happen, but these are the guarantees given to me."
