Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

I don't believe AVB is cynical like Harry. He seems far less likely to give quotes to the press against Levy's wishes.

Re: Gareth Bale

AVB seems to be as conniving as harry

LOL...you only get to play that card if he then comes out (after Levy holds firm) and single-handedly tries to sell the player during the first two games of the season! As of now the man has been consistent in every possible sense.

Re: Gareth Bale

Or more likely, he is telling the truth

why is that more likely?

Has AVB never told an ALLEGED lie before? Is he a saint above all others?

Infact is it actually common practice for a manager to tell the truth most of the times? Do you believe most of what professional sports men tell the press?

Alot of questions i know , actually not that many, but what i am trying to get at is that its just as likely a lie as it could be a truth being told here by AVB. i see no reason to think otherwise...and what he did there was distance himself from Levy and whatever transpires with bale. Almost like "hey if we sell him its not my fault" or "i cant be held responsible for the state of the team if Levy sells bale"

why not show a bit of unity? "WE wont be selling bale" finish...this harping on with "what i have been told"

its very similar to how harry has put pressure on levy in the past.....AVB appears to be putting the same kind of "focus the spotlight on levy" pressure that we all saw harry do

Because AVB is young, smart and devilishly handsome. Not like that 'dodgy geezer' Harry Redknapp!

Because he has consistently said the same thing on this subject.

I'm not really interested in re-running the arguments of last summer. I think that there is little to be gained from it and it doesn't have much to do with what is happening at the club now.

Re: Gareth Bale

A guy is who is a saint above all others probably wouldn't last long as a PL manager. Although some on here are being a bit too cynical and paranoid about what they're being told by AVB, I would assume because of mistrust of the manager build up from the previous regime.

I don't see many similarities between AVB and HR in their handling of the media. AVB is certainly better at it now than he was at Chelsea, but he isn't one who actively seeks media attention or craves their approval. He's simply giving the only answer he has to a question he's been asked approximately 3000 times this window IMHO.

Re: Gareth Bale

does Bale have the potential to be a whiny, moany lickle b!atch if he wants to leave but we dont let him?

Re: Gareth Bale

I don't understand this question? a question about Bale means he automatically has to bring us Levy's promise?

i guess 99% of the questions are along the lines of "so whats happening with Gareth Bale, is he staying or leaving"......do you think the media are asking AVB whether Bale likes oranges or grapefruits?

hmmmm try..

"Hopefully Gareth stays"

"I would like to think he will stay"

"We need Gareth to stay"

"I'm confident Gareth will stay"

Tbh there's many ways to answer that question without informing people (continuously) that you have reassurances from the chairman he will stay. As i said i like him taking the Redknapp approach on this occasion and long may it continue.
