There are two players with only six months left on their contracts who could make a real positive difference to us immediately in De Vrij, who would be a massive upgrade on Dier and Ndicka who would be a big upgrade on Lenglet/Davies. Dier and Davies are better suited to a back three than a back four imo. Dier is better suited to our varied press approach than to a high pressing system.

We haven't upgraded, it would have been really useful to upgrade. I think that's in part at least due to the number of positions we needed to improve. And Lenglet has been an upgrade on the squad at least. The thought of Sanchez, Rodon or Tanganga at LCB...

Hopefully there are realistic targets that would be an upgrade now or in the summer if we stick with Conte/back three. Upgrades anyway, the players not good enough for a back three aren't exactly that promising in a back four either.

Davies should play for Everton or villa, and dier should go play for Burnley.
